I decided not to buy an aftermarket stereo when the BOSE system sounds great and I already have the aux connector wired in. So I need to replace my rear speakers and amps as they are not working. Are the 90-93 same as 94+? I have a 95 and need to find rear speakers for it. Which also brings me to the next question, any good place to find speakers and amps cheap? I checked car-parts.com but they dont have a listing for the speakers so no luck there.
thanks

All 90-96 Q45 speakers are the same- 4" round in the front and 6x9 oval in the rear. Amps are also the same except for the 1990 which has its pigtail soldered to the amp board where all the other amps have a detachable connector. You can get front amps from any 90's Nissan or Infiniti and they'll sound great. Rear amps should probably only come from a J30 or Q45 since they are the only models with 6x9 speakers. I'm getting ready to put front amps in the rear on my 90Q since I have a blown rear amp and no matching pairs of rears so I'll know soon if they power up the 6x9 speakers.

I bought a pair of infinity Reference 2way rear 6x9 speakers when I had my 94Q and they sounded very nice. Double check before you buy but I think the 94-96 may be a 3-way rear speaker (6 prong connector vs. 4 prong in the 90-93) in which case the Infinity Kappa would be a better choice. Chances are there's nothing wrong with your rear speakers, just dead amps, unless you have a known defect (cracked speaker paper) or are looking to change speakers just to upgrade.

Here's some rear speakers/amps from a J30 for sale. They're plug and play. There's a couple more part outs in the J30 forum.

Mixmatching Bose amps from different models of cars is not a great idea as they are custom equalized for each individual application based on the cars interior acoustics

The EQ in the amps is different for different models.

Honestly in my opinion if you replace them with a matching pair, you'll be fine.

When I had my first Q, I pulled a set of amps and speakers from an I30 with bose, and I couldn't really tell the difference.. It was certainly better to have 2 working and maybe mismatched speakers, than none at all!

If you should ever send amps off to be repaired, send both and REMIND the repair shop that the amps need to be balanced before return. Some shops might exchange one of your broken amps with some repaired unit they have on the shelf. I had to return both front amps to get them balanced after repair.

As I recall, Infiniti had a major recall on early Q rear bose speakers...for a fire hazard. My were replaced by the dealer. I'd be real careful buying used stuff on ebay. Just a thought.

Well when I first got the car the previous owner had a sub and he wired the input to the sub off the rear speakers so they werent working. I thought it was just because he cut the speaker wires so I fixed all the wiring and still not working, I figured oh broken speakers/amps ill just toss these 6x9 3-ways I have in and be done with it. So I changed out the speakers and tossed the old speakers and amps. Didnt realize until the trash was already gone that I should have just kept the stock speakers and changed the amps. If I can get my 6x9 aftermarket speakers to work with a bose amp that would be great too I thought they only worked with stock speakers?
