Are all '90s 240SXs basically the same? (first car, I'm a noob in general)

se is fastback, xe is coupe (also base model). and other minors difference.

se and xe are levels of trim on the car. se had a few extra goodies like sometimes abs, lsd and hicas. xe is like base model.

if you discount the body style change then yeah they are pretty much the same. as far as which is better, everybody has a different opinion about that one. me i prefer the s13. but thats me.

The KA24DE was DOHC, and the KA24E was single. I agree with eddiec...the s13 is best.

S13's stateside where all the 240sx's built from 89-94, 95-98's were all S14's and S15's never made to the states. S13's are easily picked out in the states because they all have flip-up headlights.

i like the s13 cause it reminds me of old school coolness. plus it weighs less than a s14 in stock trim. plus 13's are usually cheaper. btw i'm cheap...

I like the way S13 fastbacks look. It's purely an aesthetic thing. Buy the newest, best maintained car in the body style that *you* like.

We need a "so you're buying a 240SX article" or something. If only people actually read the articles.

maintenance more important than new, i guarantee my 89 is in better shape than most s13s, and even probably a lot of the s14s.

well to be honest I actually prefer the S14's and 15's to the S13's. The 15's come with a little more horsepower stock and it's increase in size gives it more style. Not to mention most of the people I see with S13's have installed some kind of body kit which (after installed) gives the 240sx lines similar to that of it's S14-15 models. It is true though that they tend tobe a bit more expensive than the 91-94 models though.
