Are 240sx's stolen a lot where you're from (compared to other cars)?

Just trying to get an idea.

Used to be not stolen much atll, if you ahve a known swap in it chances are a bit higher..

Of course in north NJ this is a real consideration as one of the higehst theft areas in the country.

Club will help make it less likely

if everyone has their eyes on a certain ca then there's almost nothing you can do about it but here's some security measures that'll do some good.. it won't make the car theft proof but atleast they'll have to work for it.

kill switches: fuel, ecu, ignition, battery etc only cost ya a couple bucks for wire and you can take switches off anything.

basic alarm but wired not under the wheel wells and also with a seperate power source.

clutch pedal lock or removable steering wheel

lo jack

try to keep the car more clean. unnecessary decals (ie hks cusco nismo bride takata etc), silvia, 180sx etc emblems.... or race team names etc make the car seem like it has some theft worthy parts in there. the more stock or simple the car looks the lesser chance of theft.

if you got a lot of stuff try not to park at restaurants, malls and especially movie theatres.

usually when your car gets broken into or stolen its by someone you met or know. One big thing you can do to prevent thieft is DO NOT SHOW OFF. A lot of people show off with big loud subs or burn out or speed everywhere.

When you show off to much your saying "steal me" And the kill switches are a good idea. I want to make 7 switches and they will be in random positions.

If your 240sx becomes a weekend warrior you really don't need to worry about thieft . Also make sure you drive around your neighborhood a couple times. so no one can figure out where you live

I was planning on keeping it low key... The idea is to make the 240 a sleeper. I want everybody to think it's some secretary's car...

...because right now in North Jersey WRX's are the hot item to steal... and even though I have anti-theft out the you-know-what on my WRX, I still don't feel safe.

I want the 240 to be a fun weekend car, but also the car that I can leave parked at the mall for 3 hours and not have to worry about it. I am hoping that original paint, body panels, etc. with all their dings and dents will not look attractive to thieves... but like juujai says, if a certain car is the hot ticket, there is nothing you can do. That's why I asked.
