There's a lot of new research saying there's actually a global COOLING, and that arctic ice is NOT shrinking (per satellite photos).

I'm all for cutting pollution, even to the point of resucing emissions in practical and EVEN AGGRESSIVE ways (if the net outcome is positive). But this whole MMGW thing is so transparently a joke, it's ludicrous.
Just to be fair though Hitman your simply choosing to believe one set of research over another. This is the problem with political interference with science...**** like this happcens. Look at the fact that we actually are even debating teaching something like creationism as part of a real science course.

And I agree, cut polution wherever. If people do it because they believe in global warmign doesn't freaking matter as long as they do it.

Yes. I choose to believe the most recent, the most reliable, and the lengthiest (longitudinal) studies.

You keep believing Algore (that helmetless 'tard) and I'll believe the non-partisan scientists whose professional reputation and continued livelihood is on the line.

Just because MTV told you the polar bears were stranded on a melting ice cube doesn't mean it's true.

Do some research on the latest determinations, and look at the flaws and errors that resulted in the MMGW panic... report on my desk by close of business tomorrow.

Did you steal that from Algore's slide show?

If you look real, real close, you can see him overhead in his uber-polluting Gulfstream, getting 6 gallons per mile, sucking down Evian out of a petrochemical-based bottle, running the A/C full-blast, heading back to his McMansion that generates more "greenhouse gases" per year than my entire fleet of cars does in a lifetime...

...but you gotta look REAL close.

Yeah, I think I see it. It's in the reflection of the polar bear's tears right?

If you look real close... POLAR BEARS CAN SWIM! The bear is probably resting on there, or scouting something in the water.

YES!!! Exactly!!!!

That poor polar bear.. He's all alone out there in the sweltering desert, created by our greedy and heartless obsession with SUV's and gas-powered lawn implements.

I desperately want to invite Algore to the Phoenix Zoo (which is beautiful), where the polar bears thrive in desert heat. And by desert heat, I mean non-Arctic temperatures.

By the way, I was checking on our "new-and-improved" (and completely humane) ACME Socialist / Communist Trap this morning...

I found a poor lil' misguided fellow thrashing about, muttering something about "talk radio" and "censorship" and "Fairness Doctrine"... He had no ID on him, but he did have a set of Hyundai keys in his pocket.

In the interest of "crossing the aisle", I cut him loose.

This thread is funny.

I like the topic, but laugh at the Savage topic and the Algore topic.

I was a Geography major in college, so I took some weather and climate courses as well as they were related. I had a fantastic professor! He was a brilliant man and a great teacher.

We talked about this topic at length... Global warming, greenhouse gasses, human impact, the coming ice age, etc...

His stance..

"The only thing that's ever been consistant about the earth's weather is the fact that it's always changing."

In other words, things would be messed up if our climate was NOT changing. If we weren't experiencing global warming, or heading toward an ice change, that would be odd.

Is the human race impacting weather.. sure. But we aren't the first living thing to affect the climate on earth. There have been periods of great animal and organism infestations that have changed foliage levels for huge expanses of the earth that has impacted temps and o2 levels worldwide.

Perhaps we're saving ourselves and don't even know it? Maybe the earth is heading toward a natural ice age, yet we're warming the climate. Perhaps we'll balance that out.

Personally.. I'm all for global warming. Living in Northern Wisconsin is no fun in the winter, all take every extra degree of temp I can get. I'm gonna go shoot some hairspray into the air.

Wouldn't that kinda be sacrilegious there? I mean GB, Packers, the Frozen Tundra?

I like my winter with 250"+ of snow (at least until March, by then I'm sick of it) and a few real blizzards that we get in the UP.

Every winter is harder and harder on me. I don't mind the snow.. but I hate the cold and wind.

I would blow my brains out if I lived in the UP. Winter from October to May.. No Thanks!

We will have similar discussions in a couple months when someone else comes out with claims that hold as much water as a flour sifter.

Anyway, Govt is stepping up. Just look at NY and their new penalties against businesses that have open doors while their AC is running. Global Warming will be the best scapegoat for Gov't to get more money based upon fines and penalties, it's just now ramping up.

I'm for global cooling. The more miserable the Sconnies are, the happier I am.

They were all too busy trying to convince the SabreTooth tigers that they should give away their freshly killed food because it was for the good of society and only fair that those who worked hard to provide for their families should give that away to those who were too slothful and stupid to go out and survive on their own.

"OM, the sky is falling, G must be pissed at us! Time to sacrifice 3 clean animals and 11 unclean ones!"

This article from a couple of hours ago indicates the polar bears are to busy trying to find ice to worry about a crack in it:

You're confusing the religious with conservatives.

We capitalists would have said, "Let's sell the 11 unclean animals to the lower-class, and we'll celebrate the profits by eating one of the 3 good ones."
