Arc Induction Box mounting?

I'm looking for -any- pictures or descriptions of an ARC Induction Box mounted in an S13. After searching both here and on the web the best I could come up with is nitekids install in his S14.

You'd think the ARC site would show their product -installed- in something. Sheesh.

Its not entirely straightforward because... well maybe because I'm an idiot, but I guess I'm not seeing a direct correlation between the mounting flange and the fender itself.



I was thinking the filter would face up, but after comparing it to the 180sx airbox pic in the FSM I think it actually faces forward. Which really makes more sense in retrospect. I'll take it out to the car tomorrow and see if it fits in that orientation. Still, I'd like to see someone's completed install.

Oh, and I got it off of ebay. Came with the MAF too. There are a few companies selling them stateside now but I certainly couldn't afford a new one.

Which one? The ARC one is the original filter. The green one is an HKS setup for an SR20, which unfortunately didn't fit my CA18 MAF. Its sitting on my shelf for some future projects unless someone wants to buy it.

Yes, I finally figured out how it mounts. It actually uses some of the stock air box's mounting points and though it looks like the hood won't clear it, it does. I'll post pics when the engine bay is painted and there's an engine in it to hook it up to; I just test fitted it for now.

There is one thing it makes abundantly clear; the japanese 180sx's don't have a carbon canister, and that thing gets seriously in the way of the IC piping with the ARC box installed. I'll probably remove it and put a breather on the vent hose from the gas tank.

sorry to bring this back up from the dead, but does the arc induction intake box or whatever have any advantage over the cone type intakes?

wow yea ya really dug up an oldie, i would say if you are looking for a large increase in power look somewhere besides the intake. Header or Exhaust or timing advance or ignition.~Sam
