Hi everyone, I was just curious, I am thinking of purchasing a G35x sedan or the G37 coupe Journey and I was on the Infiniti website today and I noticed that they already have APR financing deals for purchases as well as leases for the G37 Coupe (sweet).

I was curious if it was a little strange that the G37 already has a APR promotion when the car has been out for only a little bit and dealers keep telling me that since the car is so new they won't negotiate the price. Please don't get me wrong, I like the fact there is a special, but I was just wondering if this was a little odd.

Oh yeah, I still can't decide between the sedan or coupe, my buddy has the 2008 G35x and that thing is plenty quick, and from what I hear, it might be faster then the coupe? I will probably make my mind up by the end of the coming week.

I was told today... its 2.9% over 36 mo and 3.9% over 60... and about a 700 score is needed to qualify.

I would think this is a way for Infiniti to make the payments more reasonable without having to actually lower the price of the car so soon after introduction. I have couple of theories as to why G37's are less scarce than expected:

-Credit is more tight right now, so low-interest loans are not as easy to get. Also, people are no longer relying on the re-financing money from their mortgages to go on spending sprees because home values have dropped significantly. The market that would purchase the G37 is clearly cutting back. Even the CEO of BMW was quoted as saying their sales are being affected due to the slump in the housing market.

-There probably were not as many G35 Coupe owners as expected that chose to move up to the G37 because 1) they preferred the old style, 2) they didn't see enough difference to warrant a trade and/or 3) the lease payments on the G37 were significantly higher than their existing lease payments on their G35's. This could help with situations #2 and #3.

Whatever the case, I still have no regrets about the purchase of my G37 in late August. It has been an all-out blast to drive and has been trouble-free now for 1400 miles. It is a fantastic car!
