Applying Touch-Up Paint

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have multiple rock chips from highway driving. So I decided to go with the OEM Nissan pearl white touch-up pen that Infiniti gave me as a quick fix. But Im curious, is it as simple as what the directions says on the pen: ...wash/dry car...apply the paint then the clear coat.

I have never used one of these pens before so any tips and suggestions before I start? Any sprays/sealants after the application of the paint and clear coat?

it works... use a hypodermic needle to get more control to fill the scratch.

I've used the same thing, and have found the directions a little lacking. The service manager told me to wash and dry the car, don't apply any wax, then apply the paint. Let this dry completely (24 - 48 hours?), then apply the clear coat. I usually go 48 hours between the paint and the clear coat.

It works like a charm and you can get pretty good accuracy with the paint application.
