My iPhone 6+ used to be seen by my Bose system in my M37x as an iPod. I could navigate all the playlists and artists on my phone, select tracks and the steering wheel and other audio controls worked great.

But now that I have upgraded to the iOS9 on my iPhone, the sound system does not see the phone at all. It detects a USB presence but will not display anything like it did before. The iPhone will play music in my office via a cord to my speakers, on a dock, via Bluetooth but no longer with an Apple USB/lighting connector cord. And I cannot find any discussions on this.

So now I am down to XM and discs and no iPhone on long road trips.

Any ideas on how to remedy this? :ohno:

I'm an Android user, but I'd be curious to see if you went back to iOS8 if it would work again (to take the OS out of the equation or make it the focal troubleshooting point). As a systems engineer, I don't think there is anything you can do until perhaps Apple rolls out an update to fix whatever the actual bug is. There is no setting to click, etc...but again, I know iOS about as good as I know Polish (which is like 10%).

I upgraded to iOS9 and haven't had any issues in my Q70, and I doubt Apple would have changed the communication protocol. So, I'd try a few things like rebooting the phone and reseating the cord.

Also, don't know if iPhones have this, but is there a way to 'soft reset' the phone? Last but not least you could back it up and factory reset.

Did you try removing the car from your iPhone and repairing? You have to do two separate pairings if I remember correctly. First, you set it up for Bluetooth calling. Then you have to go back in and set it up for Bluetooth music streaming. Here are some instructions from Infiniti:

I can't see why it wouldn't work plugged in. My iPhone 6 has been working fine with Bluetooth streaming and USB since I upgraded to ios9 to the other day.

I have a Maxima 2012 and I'm having issues with iOS9 as well. I haven't tried removing and adding the iPhone, but beyond recognizing that it's connected, the experience has been poor. I've experienced everything from the menu not working properly (e.g., selecting an album or a song and the car not recognizing the input) to not being able to back out of a menu selection (or not returning to the "home page" when the console button is pushed.

Welcome to the forum. Not sure if you noticed, but you posted in an Infiniti M forum (not trying to be a jerk, you just never know :)). That being said, Nissan and Infiniti are largely the same and run the same software (even have the same style of dashes), so I'll leave this post as is. Thanks for chiming in.

IOS9 has been acting funky since I upgraded to it on my 5. I'm waiting for my 6S + to finish uploading from the cloud. I'll let you all know.

I have a 5S. Recently upgraded to 9.0.1. No issues. Should receive a nice new 6S in a week or so and will update.

Don't have any problems with my 6S+, so far. Will keep you posted if I notice anything.

I was having the same trouble w/ my 2012 M37x, after adding a 6s & iOS 9. Here's what i did, and it worked. Delete your phone from the Bluetooth settings (both as hands-free phone and audio device). Turn the engine off/ accessories off. Walk away for a couple minutes -- give the car computer time to re-set. Then, come back and re-pair the phone with both the Bluetooth settings.
