Contrary to popular belief, reposts aren't that big of a deal. They don't happen that often, and the worst case scenario is that you waste 10 seconds looking at the thread before you realize its a repost. IMO it's a bigger deal in the tech and car specific forums when you get every new member who comes in using the forum as his own personal question and answer service.
That said, the Dec 18. 2008 date of the youtube vid is enough of an indicator that it's probably going to be a repost. If it's an old vid, and you jumped on it, you can probably assume someone else though the same when it first came out.
