Hello,

I've owned a 2011 M37x for the past two years and love it! I also have a ton of Apple products, and would like to see if I can do Apple Car Play in the M37x.

Has anyone succesfully done this with an aftermarket option? If so, has the aftermarket option also been able to control the onboard music hard drive, climate controls, Infiniti specific controls?

Thanks in advance!
Tom

Welcome to the forum.

No one on this forum has accomplished this as far as I know and we briefly threw around some ideas in the Infiniti + Android discussion thread...perhaps one of the companies discussed there has an Apple option?

You'd basically need a middle-man device between your phone/device and the screen that inputs RGB or something to the screen but I agree...our screens are not exactly the cusp of technology and any work like this would have to be custom, etc. Might as well build a CarPC at that point lol.

Best you are gonna do is mirror your phone:

check out this thread: post6702368.html?hilit=mirror#p6702368

Naviks (not sure if any of the M guys has done this, I think a few G fellas have, but not sure how good the interface is and how reliable it is, for either.) Plus, only 2 camera inputs AND audio has to be routed via Bluetooth or FM modulator, NO audio input...?? :wtf2:

Navtool unit has 2 options: one with CarPlay??? and the other without, for $200 less: http://www.navtool.com/infiniti-m-2011- ... egory.aspx + 4 camera inputs
BUT, you also need the Apple HDMI lightning connector too - prolly get that cheaper elsewhere, because they charge $120...

both have YouTube videos demonstrating their products - I'd kinda like this functionality, but haven't taken the plunge 'cuz it ends up being around 500 bones or so, with the Naviks coming in slightly less .... :tisk:

This is interesting. Would installing one of these systems mean that built in features like lane departure warnings wouldn't work anymore? And would you lose access to all of the menu options in the car's system?

I'm willing to bet that Nissan/Infiniti will have apple car play standard in there cars in the 2025-2030 model year. What do you expect Kia has been doing it for five years now. My car stickered for $75000 there is no way they could of thrown that in. I mean we still have to cycle through the entire audio section to get to FM1.

NO NISSAN'S OR INFINITI'S HAVE BEEN HARMED IN THIS AD!
