Considering that you're trying to add current tech to an 11yo car and considering that the arse-wipes at Apple go out of their way to ensure their products work only with other Apple products, I'd say you have two hopes: Bob Hope and NO Hope. Sorry to be so blunt but I obviously have an issue with that company, LOL. That is why I never have, and never will buy any Apple product.

The hardware in a 2007 was built before an iPhone even existed, there is simply no hardware at all to enable. No firmware update can enable something that simply doesnt exist in the hardware.

You have 2 options:
buy a bluetooth receiver and plug it in to your aux inputs
go all out and replace your entire head unit with something modern. Which is doable but expensive and time consuming.

After I would say 6 years of looking for it, I found a way to get car play on the M35x...

I had the same issue as you for many many years.

I long to be able to plug my iphone with USB into the car, and have it charge and sync my music.

I found an amazing product, which I have not tried out yet.

I will tell you the info, all I request is you tell me how it works and show me some photos if you decide to install it!

check them out at:

I haggled with the guy and got him down to $500 if I send him a wire transfer, I believe the product is $700, but you need to also get it installed

Check it out and let me know what you think

haha, I agree, that's why I didn't get it yet!

the product looks great, but the whole wire transfer doesn't sit well with me either

I know it’s been a year but. If your still looking for one. I bought one for my wife’s 07 Infinity then low and behold she totaled it two days later. I got it from Nav Tool paid around 850 with shipping then another 100 for the install.

NavTool is no bueno. I tried it on my M56. See if GROM Audio has the VLine for the Y50.
