I saw this in this month's Import Tuner at the local Barns and Noble. It was in the new products section. It's basically like an N1 muffler that has a valve inside with a spring. At cruising speeds, the valve is closed and reroutes the exhaust through a small opening to cut down on noise levels. As exhaust flow increases, the valve begins to open letting the exhaust flow straight out. Pretty darn cool!! Very similar to a muffler that I had on one of my Nitro R/C cars, it sure helped out low end torque while still giving the car excellent top end power. Wonder what it will do on a 240 and how it will sound?? I can't seem to find any info on this product online.

No, no, this was an N1 style muffler with a valve inside that had a spring. I know what you are referring to, that's totally not what I saw. I can't seem to find the darn thing on the web. I may have to go get that damn magazine and scan a pic so that you can see what I'm talking about.

It wont be available in the US for another 3-4 months. They are still finishing up some long term durability testing in Japan.

It is actually a GT Spec muffler (not an N1) which means full polished stainless steel and 95mm piping. :greenboun

Looks like a really nice setup, especially for us CA people!

A'PEX is also coming out with something like this. Its called the DECS ECV (Dynamic Electronic Control System - Exhaust Control Valve). It is basically a butterfly valve that is controllable via SAFC style control box from within the ****pit. :)
