hey guys i was wondering if it is possible to change the speedometer reading from km/hr to mph on a Apexi Type-R Boost Controller??? Also i was driving my 240sx (SR20DET) home from work this morning and when i hit the gas wide open throttle from a stop i noticed some black smoke coming out of the exhaust at higher RPMs. this is the first time that has ever happened. i think it might have been some kind of boost spike because this morning was A LOT colder here than it has been recently. anybody got any clues what is happening??? i bought this car from a person with the SR20DET already installed but personally i don't know that much about car engines (still learning). i am not sure what kind of turbo i have but i do know it is upgraded and it is a Garrett turbo and i am pushing 16lbs of boost. (supposedly around 300hpish) also since i had the car i am constantly refilling it with 50/50 prediluted coolant...... is this normal for a turbo car??? i do it about 1-2x a week and i fill it to maximum and it drops to minimum...... thanks a lot guys for any help you can give...... i really appreciate it

burning coolant would have yielded grey/white smoke, not black. black smoke = too much rich. Might want to check around your injectors and such.

16lbs, I'd definitely take a look at what kind of turbo you got.

check for coolant leaks, but you may just have air bubbles in your coolant system and need to bleed it. easy way to check for leaks is drive your car around a bit, park, then slip a large white sheet of paper (like the kind they have to wrap meat), or cardboard or posterboard under the car, and see what comes up.

in the future it may be easier to separate your questions into different paragraphs .

as for the apex unit, most likely it's just km/h - you should verify thru the apex'i site's manual or something.
