APEXi Turbo timer problems

I have have installed an APEXi Turbo timer on my 1983 280zxt. It works fine when i turn the car to the off position. The problem is the car stays running after the count down when I turn it past the off position to the lock position in order to remove the key. Any suggestions would be helpful.Thanks
