I have this afc II and i was under the assumption that it would display the boost pressure in PSI.... Mine for some reason is displaying in Kpa... I went to the apexi website and downloaded the manual and it does not state how to change the settings for pressure display..

Can this be changed to display the boost in PSI...??

i do believe so, tomorrow morning first thing you do when you get up, Call Apex USA and ask a rep, they will know for sure....unless someone on here will tell you before hand

SAFC and SAFC II is a fuel controller, has nothing to do with boost. You are thinking of the AVCR which is the boost controller that looks similar.

Ah, yeah the AFC is an air fuel controller, this i already know

It has nothing to do with boost:R U sure about that..??

I am NOT thinking of the AVCR...! I think i know the difference between the 2.

And this is what I copied from APEXi..:

The S-AFC is capable of monitoring and replaying the following data channels in Numerical, Analog Meter and Graph displays: Intake Manifold Vacuum/Boost Pressure, Air Flow Capacity, Intake Manifold Pressure, Karmann Frequency, Engine RPM, Throttle Position, and Air Flow Correction %.

Correct me if im wrong but it DID say intake manifold vacuum / boost pressure.. did it not say that..??

And its funny how my afc displays vacuum and boost but in a different reading scale OTHER than psi

you got a camera? take a picture. My SAFC2 doesn't read boost, and isn't wired to do so, and doesn't have wires to do so. I would know as I installed it

Still interested if this was just a typo on the Apex website, which is what it sounds like to me.

it will display boost pressure, IF your car is already equipped with a MAP sensor. something that 240's don't have.

240s atleast in S14 has MAP sensor.

My car is a 96 and I remember getting a code for MAP sensor once because my intake wasn't installed correctly and air was leaking through.

Edit: actually its called MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve. Its hooked up to the Absolute pressure sensor.

Not sure if thats the same thing as the MAP sensor you were talking about?

Also a picture and description from FSM

its a barometric pressure sensor, it tells the ECU the barometric pressure of the location you are currently in so that the ECU can adjust fuel acordingly. it doesn't measure the engines pressure. you have the SAFC set wrong. set it up for MAF voltage so it will tell you the airflow percentage you are flowing. you WILL NOT get a boost reading from the SAFC on a 240.

SAFC stands for Super Air Flow Converter

For me I needed a fairly simple way to fool the ECU as to how much air is entering the engine to run slightly lean so the SR20det could pass emissions, and it passed with flying colors.

Im so amazed that u guys DO NOT believe me..!! I have a wire that comes OFF the afc that TAPS OFF of my boost gauge MAP sensor... that allows the afc to DISPLAY BOOST ..!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know how many times i have to say this. It is displaying boost, but NOT in psi... its in Kpa...!!!

When i get this afc re-wired again, im gonna take some pics of it at idle and when im at 8 psi and 15 psi and show u guys...!!!

Then we will so who is WRONG..!!!

It's not about proving who's right and who's wrong. That kind of negativity ruins otherwise friendly topics. Just post pics when you do it

You should be able to change it. Maybe you got the JAP version instead of the US model?
