I don't think so. It just monitors setting, it doesn't change anything the ECU does.

If you want to get rid of the speed limiter just cut the 5th postion sensor on the transmission.

It will get rid of the speed limiter. The rev limiter is really complicated to get rid of. The RSM doesnt disable that.

yeah speed limiter is relatively simple to do away with, and you really don't have much to gain by revving much higher than stock anyway, not without some cams and/or headwork anyway.

 The best whay to get Rid of the Speed/Rev Limiters( KNOWN AS A FACT TO WORK ON ALL S-13 BUT ONLY IN A 5SPEED CAR ) just get an Atomatic ECU from the same year engine Code 89-90-E >>91-93-DE .. and slap it in there, and take it for a spin .. theres no speed cut off at 115mph. or rev kicking at 5000rpm's when you unplug, cut, snip wire's... have fun.. :ylsuper

What? Sounds like a bunch of B.S. to me. There are many differences between auto and manual transmission ecu's. I wouldn't recommend doing this. Buying another ecu cutting wires and wasting time and money. All you do is cut the speed sensor wire at the ecu, then unplug the 5th gear sensor. You can do this without a RSM but with the RSM you can tell how fast your going.

if you install a switch and flick the switch when you hit 120, its fine.. its not like you know how fast you are going past 120 anyway.never done it, but know guys that have

There's no B.S here!!! Cutting that Yellow/Green wire only will let you hit about 115-125 mph and also if you do that The Rev limiter will hit you at 5000rpms.. I did this and that happen.. hell all three of buddy's are runing the Automatic ECU ..

every thing works in my and theirs .. Tach, speed, back light's all of it .. .. _____ Plug and Play__ :pface

Sry man. That auto ecu swap sounded like another one of those internet rumors.

Anyways, I used the RSM and pulled the 5th gear sensor on the transmission and haven't had any thing hold me back. That 5000 rpm limitier you talk about, is that the one in 5th?

well anyways....you dont need to buy anything to get rid of the speed limiters, cut the wire and pull the 5th gear sensor. The RSM will tell you how fast you are going though...in km/h.

I don't think there is a way to get the unit to say "mph", however, you can calibrate it via vehicle weight and adjustment to read in line with your speedo. So, it will say 137kmh but actually be 137mph

yeah the old style that was black w/ red led display had both mph and km/h. But you can adjust the new style to read with your speedo like Dave said.

Umm....I believe I know what I am talking about. I have it in my car and look at it all day every day. There is even a tech article or write up awhile back in import tuner or one of those mags. about it. It stated that it only displays km/h. If you know some great secret that they missed please do share. Otherwise don't come in here replying like you know everything and I, that actually has the RSM installed and currently working, am spreading the wrong info.

But feel free to show some proof.

Just to save you time, here is something from apexi's website RSM

then if you have adobe acrobat....click on the product documentation link and read that it displays km/h but says nothing about mph.

Umm.....I believed we asked for some pictures or proof. Since its obvious you dont have any....your argument is pointless. I just posted the apexi website and it states nothing about mph. You are thinking of the old unit. Since this arguing on the internet **** is pointless, just click on the link I posted to read about the RSM then click on the documents on discontinued products to read about the RSM that displayed mph. If you still can't tell, just buy one and have shdfrk here hook it up....it will magically read whatever you want.

Look, this thread started out as a useful one and now you have to come in here making stupid comments and not backing up anything you claim. Grow up and stop posting useless **** so this thread doesn't get locked and everyone that has something useful to post can do so. You have already made yourself look like an ***, so just let it go.

Didn't know you needed the help. j/k :D

Anyways, sorry you read all that but **** I get tired of ppl just posting to get a pointless argument started. Anyways, what did the RSM look like in that video? I called my friend at his shop today to see if the G sensor unlocks a mph feature and he said that it didn't. Just curious since you seen in in that video.

its up and... its good. blurry but I'll take it. break out the sutures, close the wound, shake hands, make love, whatever....I'd guess there are a few versions running around and if you happen to have a japanese version it probably only has a japanese manual and km/h read out.
