I`m just bought a Apexi Power FC with electric boost control.

My question is why do I need a MAF sensor like the one from Z32 when I can tune my engine from a wideband to get the right mix of fuel and air?

The MAF doesnt output an air ratio, it outputs the throughput of the air going through it.. you need the MAF because the ecu translates the throughput to an injector pulse which sets your air/fuel ratio. What your actually tuning with your wideband is the injector pulse width to the amount of air going through the MAF to get your desired a/f ratio. Without a MAF the power fc has no way of knowing how much air the motor is getting.

Depends on which version of the PFC you bought.

The D-Jetro version requires a MAP (Manifold Abolute Pressure) sensor, and the regular version requires a MAF (such as the 300ZX unit)

So the apexi electric boost controller that I have is not the same as the Map sensor your talking about?

If that´s the case can I buyone the map sensor sepperatly to the Power fc that I got?

Is there a D-Jetro version to the S14 Kouki?

RegardsTommy
