trying to find more info i put and rb25det in my 1996 240sxbut i have not pre wire the two harness yet i was wondering if i could just use the rb25det harness and apexi power fc + commander instead of sending harness out to get prewire .if using the power fc i would not need the ecu and maf sensor as long as i got a mapfor the maf sensor help email me at [email protected] and to moderator please save the sarcism for later really need help not bull****

im gonna try to help you here.

ok first your gonna want the DJ power FC. thats gonna be your map sensor version. this gets rid of your MAF.

Now understand what goes on with wiring (or what i think your refering to as "pre-wire") Basically wiring for your car happens at the junction of F3. This part of the harness is not connected to the ECU. its the little plug upways of the ecu. so whether your using the stock ecu or the power FC you still have to wire up your harness the right way. the wiring gives power to the ecu and sends some signals you need. (fuel pump, voltage to the ecu, etc)

SO, the simple answer is yes, you need to still correctly wire up your engine harness whether or not you use a power FC (DJ or regular)

Get an AEM EMS and be done with it. Just have it tuned professionally!:-)

i, on the other hand, support it and say spend the cash on aem! or save the money and get a mega squirt.

I'm trying to find more information. I've installed an RB25DET in my 1996 240SX, but I have not "wired" the 2 harnesses together yet. I'm wondering if I could use the RB's harness and an Apexi Power FC + Commander, instead of sending the harness (or 2 harnesses) out to get pre-wired. As long as I "map" for the MAF sensor, is it possible to use the Power FC and not the ECU and MAF sensor?
