i recently bought the apexi gt spec exhaust for my 91 240sx, however it is on backorder for aboot two more months. the motor is all stock and it will never see anything more than a header and intake in the future since it is my daily driver. i had my mind set on getting this exhaust but now im considering something else because of the larger piping and loss of midrange. should i go ahead and wait for this exhaust or get something else like the hks hipower or jic 505s which comes in the 60mm piping. i thought i would be fine with the loss of midrange but considering that the 240s dont have much topend its really starting to bug me

Have you thought about Blitz Nur Spec? I have heard no complaints about it yet...the JIC Magic exhaust seems like a great exhaust. I have no experience with the Apex'i GT, but with n1 I noticed my 240 had more topend, however I don't like the fact that only the cannister is stainless steel and the rest is susceptible to rust...

ive thought aboot the nur-spec but even that comes with 80mm piping. also i was thinking aboot the n1 evo which is full stainless, but if the gt spec will give me more topend, i would gladly get it and sacrifice midrange, just for the noise factor to piss off the neighbors

I wouldn't go that big for N/A cars, the Apexi GT is like 3.75in thats too big you will lose tons of back pressure(= hp) I wouldin go any bigger than 2.5in for N/A

the gt spec is huge. it steps up from 75mm to 85 to 95mm. however im now leaning towards the jic 505s.

I had an Apex N1 single on my FC and I currently have a HKS Hi Power on my S13.

The Hi Power is a MUCH better built piece. Support brackets for the can and resonator (and the fact that it has a resonator) make for a VERY quality piece. On my CA it is actually very quiet off boost, and on boost, it is quiet enough for me to hear intake suction noise and my little T25G spool. It is 85mm-95mm piping w/ a 110mm tip, but I like the looks without the awful noise that exhausts like Uras and Apex seem to have. BUT for N/A KA, get BRM

I just recently 3 days so far to be exact reciecved my mail. Brand new HKS Hi-power exhaust 65mm... i bought if from enjuku racing ... 3 days so far and nothing but smiles... My 240 is used as a daily driver and after many hours reading every 240sx forum on the internet and searching for quiet exhaust i chose the HKS Hipower.. Glad I did... driving regular shifting at about 2700 rpm i have a light foot you can barely notice it. other than the exhaust it a stock engine. its gets hmm...I cant say loud. but a deep mean sound.. no backfire what so ever..sounds like no honda

The Hi-power does come in a a smaller size and it's fairly decently priced. It's not loud at all even with my test pipe and it was even quieter when I had my KA with a high flow(random tech) cat. If you don't want the HKS though I'd say go with BRM.
