Going to my interview today I notice my friends brother is working, so I stop to check out his nice integra when I notice his exhaust got some nasty rust on it!? Now I was driving by slowly but I could have sworn I saw rust on it. He got it 2 months ago is this normal?

ps: whats that song that starts up like "chucka chucka chucka ... x10"

I assume you saw the "rust" on the canister part of the exhuast. Apexi canisters are all made out of stainless steal. He must have a cheap knock-off weld on coffee can or it was just dirt or something that you saw.

Depends too if he got a catback, or just the muffler. I got a stainless steel muffler, but the moron muffler guy welded the hangers to the side, and the welds are starting to rust a little bit. I don't really mind though, cause the muffler is cheap, and so was the piping. When I get a different exhaust (if its not catback) I'm just going to make sure they weld the hangers to the top of the muffler.

Well.... since I just installed my Apexi N1 Dual today.. I figured I'd chime in here!!!

I HATE WORKING ON CARS SOMETIMES!!! The install WOULD have gone off without a hitch... barring a major faux-pas with the damn studs where the Apexi pipes bolt onto the cat. This car IS a 95... but it's only seen 2 Maine winters... the first 5 years of it's life it was in sunny Florida. But the entire exhaust was rusted to s***. Anyway... the studs were so rusted you couldn't even tell there was a nut on the damn things. We used my friends garage... hooked up the air compressor and hit it with the impact wrench.... well I rounded off both nuts as soon as I pulled the trigger.... tried the vise grips...... no luck! Finally had to cut them both off with the grinder... and drill new holes where the studs were. After that (about 2 hours of bitching and smacking my head against the jack stands).... we finally had the stock exhaust removed... and it took about 15 mins. to install the Apexi!!!! :D All in all, not a bad day..... except for the fact that I had to drive to Vermont and back so I could use his garage..... but it was a nice 3 hour test drive home!!!

End results..... low end is unchanged.... mid range rpms pull hard... and top end pulls a little better as well. This was my birthday present to myself.... took 2 weeks to get here... but well worth it!

Yea I heard the apexi N1 comes out at a slant too, what about the GP Sports Spec D, anyone tried that.

Does anyone know if there is a big(or any at all) performance differance between the Apexi N1 exhaust and the Greddy Power Extreme? When I was looking for my exhaust it seemed that they were about the same performance-wise and in cost, but most people on here seem to be all about the Apexi N1 exhaust. Just curious....

should have used some of that blaster stuff. or a penetrating oil on em and let it soak for a bit, sometimes it really helps. but exhaust is a pain sometimes, being exposed to the elements, not kept clean like the rest of the car, plus rust and extremem temps equal not good things.

I'm not sure how much difference there is. I went with the N1 dual for a couple reasons. Everywhere I looked when researching my options (not just NICO) had nothing but great reviews about the Apexi exhaust. It seems like they have either done a great job convincing people to buy it.... or it really was a superior product. Also, I wanted to retain the "almost stock" look with the two end tips.. (although this is two mufflers and twin pipes all the way back). Finally.... the pipes are all poweder coated for rust protection, and heat insulation. The only other system I considered was GReddy...

i can't afford a nice name brand exhaust, i don't know if i should just save for an apexi dual (i think they look sweet too, maine) or just buy an apexi muffler and add the piping, +random tech cat. The latter would probably cost the same if i got the apexi dual cat-back minus the new cat.

hmmmm...decisions decisions

or i could wait till my tax return next year, i know it will be around $500+ :D

I'd recommend getting the full cat-back but you'll do almost as well as buying the muffler and using 2.5" stainless steel piping and a high flow cat.:thinker
