So I got my apexi fc installed on my s13 blacktop and now when the engine is cold it goes from like 1000rpms to almost stalling when I hit the gas when the car is stopped. Once it warms up this problem goes away but I still get a little rev hunting when it is idleing. Any suggestions on what this could be would be appreciated.

also what BOV you using? Is it recirculated? Also check Sensor types like stated above. Stock Bypass Valve leaks and will cause this cause it did it on mine.

Sorry for the delayed response. The apexi fc is set on the stock s14 maf setting. I think this is wrong but when you look at the different settings that you can use on the commander unit it is not clear which setting to use for the z32 maf. Also the rpm's were fine until I installed the apexi fc. I do run a non recirculated bov but it was not rev hunting before I changed ecu's.

Well that's your problem. Your running a Z32 MAF and expect it to run correctly with the S14 MAF selected? It's actually really clear which setting to use. If you go into the "airflow" screen in "settings", it should say:

1. S14 Normal2. Power Intake3. RB254. VG305. VH41

You need to select the VG30 maf. After you do this, start the car and don't touch the gas. The Power FC needs to go through a learning cycle with all accessories off.

As far as installing the Power FC, what had to be done in order to install it exactly? I have a Power FC + Commander and tried to plug it in but the Commander will not light up and the car won't start. I heard there's an ECU pin that needs to get switched? Any ideas?
