You can't really get around buying it from them. You can buy it used from someone else, but I don't think you'll be allowed access to the yahoo usergroup. At least that was how I understood it.

It is well worth the money even though it hurts to drop that much on a little box and a few computer cables.

i have it. works great. i have never used the apex one, but i would imagine the support for it being limited unless you're an authorized apex tuner/dealer.

the datalogit newsgroup is pretty active and has a knowledgeable user base. they are always updating the software with bugfixes too.

if you have some friends with power fc capable cars, convince them to get it too so the cost can be split and you guys can share a box. you don't need to run the box 24/7

True but it I can see it being kind of a PITA to install and uninstall. And doesn't the version change between different engines? So he'd have to have another RB2_ near him? I'm not very familiar with its compatability.

gawdzilla is right on about the usergroup being active. It puts about 40 e-mails in my inbox per week of new posts. There's a looooot of information on there that delves into the depths of tuning theory and PFC capabilities. Makes you feel like a total newb.

back when i bought my datalogit box i think there were 2 boxes. now they've consolidated both into one box IIRC. the one box, along with the software (which is now universal for all motors they support), can do all pfcs so it should be pretty much compatible. mine has worked on SR20, RB25, and RB26

from their FAQ:Q: I have purchased used SR-20 FC-Datalogit and it is great but will it work on a Supra?A: If you have the new Black Box FC-Datalogit this will work with all version of Power FC including all AP Engineering versions. In the unlikely event that your version of Power FC hasn't been developed yet you will be prompted to scan your Power FC and you simply email the scan file to us and we will update the software for your version - this process generally takes 24-48 hours from receiving the scan. Once the software is updated a new version is uploaded to the user groups. If you have a beige Type A or B FC-Datalogit, (the older discontinued versions), these are only compatible with the Power FC version they were purchased for. Please contact us to upgrade to the new Black Box version.

I love datalogit, I would drop the cash in a heartbeat and way faster now that I have it and use it.

Datalogit is only distributed by Rotary Performance in the US. I bought from the NZ website and received my stuff from Rotary Performance. There aren't short cuts to this.

Trust me, once you buy it and see how easy it is to use and visualize, you'll realize that you would have paid 3 times the price to get it!

I ordered it online and it showed up within a week. I think it ships from Michigan or something.
