Has anyone used one of these? The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking about making my own gauges and need something that will tell me what mph I'm going. It will read mph? Anyway's, I'm in the prosses of making my gauges and will post pic's of it when I'm done, but I also need to know if a '90 240 will run fine (with NO probs. without the stock cluster in it).

Thanks,Jeramy

i have the new apexi rev/speed meter (it looks like their Super AFC) and it only reads in Km/h :(I do like it however and was able to get my 240 tach close to correct.I discovered that if I look at the stock Km/h rating on my 240 cluster, it is actually how fast I am going in MPH. strange, but it works.

Night said that the ones he has read in MPH, so might check with him.

You could also pay to have the wiring done, and mckinneymotorsports.com sells modulators to make your stock speedo and tack work correctly.

you should get the Defi VSD II display. It displays mph, km/h, rev and rev limts.

I really don't want a HUD. The design I'm trying to get will fit right in the cluster.

Thanks,Jeramy

THE DEFI ONE IS ACTUALLY ALITTLE SMALLER THAN THE APEXI ONE. IT ALSO HAS A HUD OPTION.

On the topic of gauges, has anyone figured out how to calibrate their tach or speedo? My stock gauges work fine (RB20 in S14), but the tach is probably off by 1.5 (unless my engine really does idle at 1400 RPM - doesn't sound like 1400 to me tho).

So all I really need to do is make the gauge read a little bit lower. I would guess that the gauges themselves are just ammeters, so it should be possible to just throw in a trim potentiometer in parallel with the ammeter to reduce the current through the ammeter.

Has anyone tried this, or am I just way off base?
