SAFC 1 has like 4 fewer input points along the RPM spectrum, SAFC2 has 12"nePoints". You cannot pinoint them as well, ie SAFC only can be set at 500 RPM increments, while the SAFC2 can be set at 100 RPM points. The SAFC2 has a knock sensing system. The SAFC2 has 2 data sets you can go between so you could have a stock data set and a tuned data set, or two tuned if you want. The SAFC2 also has some better moniters to choose from than the original SAFC. But the original stilll serves its purpose, either is a decent choice.

They both work practically the exact same. All the programming and tuning is done in the same manner. The SAF2 just has more precise choices and a few more features. If you have the money the SAFC2 is a good choice. Though neither can really properly handle larger injectors.
