I WAS THINKING ABOUT GETTING THE APC TIRE PRESSURE MONITORS, THE ONES YOU STRAP ON TO THE WHEEL THEN PUT THE TIRE OVER IT, I WAS JUST WONDERING HOW ACCURATE THEY ARE? THE SAY WITHIN .5 PSI BUT I DUNNO, THIS IS WHY I ASK. IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCE WITH THEM PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW, THANK YOU!

While I have not seen any specific data on the APC system, most of these we have seen available in the aftermarket are accurate to within about 1-1.5 psi. +/- That's about the standard. They will not give you specific tread temp. across the tread like you would need for a track setup, only the air chamber temp. We have the Smartire system setup on my wife's minivan. We handle that system here at The Tire Rack. You'll be amazed how much the temp and pressure changes depending on the conditions!

The base system runs $229.00 for the dash unit and senders. The optional full-function display is $49.00. The basic system has light and audio alarms for for low pressure or high temp. The full function display allows you to look at the actual pressure readout and temp. From what I have seen it is a similar setup to the APC. The main dash unit has a few mounting options and you can have a remote display that's only about 1.5X3" instead of the whole Altoid box sized unit on the dash. It is a very nice thing to have. It makes it much easier to see what's going on with the pressure. If you develop a slow leak it will alert you before it becomes a big problem. The best feature is the adjustable settings on this unit. You can fine tune the alarms and minimum settings to adapt to your needs. We wouldn't take a family trip without it now. You can find all the photos and details here under Smartire system:

The closest is a 205/55-16 that would fit a 7" @ $90.00 each.

thats a pretty close to stock size(overall diameter) to the stock tires, music.you're wheel diameter, obviously increased since you're going from a 15" wheel to a 16".-chet

IT'S BECAUSE YOU ARE PRETTY ADIMATE ABOUT NOT SHIRNKING TIRE DIAMETERS. PLUS 16" ISN'T TOO BAD.

That will be slightly taller but should not be an issue. I have seen some cars running a 225/50-16 with no issues on a non lowered car.

wouldnt, no offense, going with a smaller tire(overall diam. wise) and a taller gear ratio somewhat negate the effects?

if you get a lot of power, though, a taller rear end may help you keep from spinning THROUGH first gear :)-chet(its not that I am adamant about chaing gear ratio's, its just that our stock one is pretty low already...its your car though, if you want a bad-*** 0-70 car running low gears and overall diamtere tires/wheels, go for it)

You would have to go with a much wider tire in that series to maintain load capacity. There isn't anything in that low of a profile in a 15" wider than a 225. You have to get into the 16" fitments.
