Love the looks of my '08 red SL AWD...but to me it just looks like it's missing chrome/strainless trim around the side windows. I've seen many places that offer "sill" trim and "pillar" trim (no offense to those that dig pillar trim, I do not), but no trim that simply outlines the entire side windows. Take a look at the new Maximas for an idea of what I'm looking for:

Thanks for the link. Wow that looks complicated. I'm hoping for some pre-formed to the Rogue's window outline. I think it's strange so many places offer all the pillar trim options but no simple outline, which seems to be the most popular chrome treatment on higher end cars these days.

If you want something simple, maybe you could improvise with this stuff.

MacGyver it!

We might be out of luck. I think once the initial window trim kit (with pillar trim) hit the market... everyone else has copied (or uses) the same design.

The designer really missed the boat when designing this one They could have easily designed it like the Altimas kit where you could choose to install the pillar trim ... or not.

For the most part you could "almost" buy one of these kits and just not install the pillar trim pieces. Unfortunately... in these kits, the top edge of the pillar trim where the back edge of the front door meets the front edge of the back door, goes all the way up to the rain gutter!

If you leave off the pillar trim you'll end up with a gap in the trim at the top between the doors. As I said... it was a very poor design. They could have picked up more customers had they made the pillar trim optional (i.e. install with or without pillar trim)

Exactly! And I just don't understand how all the aftermarket manufacturers went straight to the complete pillar coverage, which is most definitely hitting a smaller market than a simple chrome outline. If you look at most higher end cars (mercedes, lexus, even VW and nissan) on the market the chrome trim outline around the windows seems to be the standard.

It's strange to me that even Nissan doesn't offer it as an aftermarket option. The Rogue is so clearly similar to the Lexus RX series, which can't be an accident. Nissan even offers that aftermarket spoiler that is nearly identical to the RX spoiler. How could they miss the window chrome? My only guess is that Nissan didn't want to step on the toes of the Murano - perhaps that's also why the SL skips climate control and automatic lights but has other even higher end features.

I am sure you could customize the rolls of trim available on ebay. Just decide how long you need in each thickness and order the right amount. Sounds easier said than done for sure as the trim may not be susceptible to too much bending. I am going to get the measurements by this weekend and see what I can come up with on ebay.

Purchase chrome molding from ebay. You need approximately 20 ft each of lower (15mm thick) and upper (20mm thick) rolls. 40ft is not fully used (actual used maybe around 32-33) but good to have some spare slack. IIRC the top window trim dimension was 91" and bottom 89" or vice versa.
