A guy sent me pictures of his Nismo S-tune coilovers that he is trying to sell. I was wondering if you could spot anything wrong with it from the pictures.

Thank you.

What are they then, leaf springs?

Anyway, regardless of whether they're height or damping adjustable it's a coilover at least in one sense of the vague term. It's a matched coaxial spring/damper combination...there.

Anyway, I'd say those S-Tunes look a bit dodgy. I'd have to wonder if any of that grime made its way under the dust boot. I also wonder if the moist looking goop near the bottom of the dust boot is the result of a blown strut.

I don't know if I'd buy those without being able to see them in person. You'd think the guy would have at least cleaned them before trying to sell them.

i don't know much about suspension, but based on looks alone, he'd have to give me those for free and pay for the shipping for me to take them...

...and even then i seriously doubt i'd use them.

The "oily grime" at the bottom of the strut is some type of grease he put on there. He heard squeaking noise so he thought that it was coming from the strut... hence decided to put grease on the strut...

Do you think that affected anything?

EDIT: BTW, he told me one of the bolts on the upper mount of the rear strut was broken. So he replaced that upper mount with a new stock one. What would cause the upper mount bolt to break?

get somthing else, thoes look kinda beat. if the guy isnt even willing to clean up his product that he is trying to sell, then he probably dosent take very good care of stuff.

I agree, if he's driving it so hard he's broken the mounting for it, you don't want what he's selling.

DAMN. My S-Tunes look WAY cleaner than that, and they turned 1 last week!
