Reassembling my head and making final decions on parts. My pistons are 86.5, 8.5:1 mahles. My deck is fine after being checked for clearences. Considering a 1.5mm cosworth but wondering if the thickness would affect my timing at all. Im not quite ready for cams/gears at the moment.

I have an Apexi 1.5mm on my car and it did not effect cam timing on my motor.

Nothing in my motor is stock :D
But the head was decked with no real material taken off (don't have machine shop receipt in front of me, but the head was straight in the first place).

Yea I read your post before I bought my block to the machine shop and even brought the issue up to them sooo...i dont kno lol. My block is still sitting wrapped in plastic. I did call the machine shop again recently though and i'll be bringing my block back up there to check again, after finding out mahle's piston design hasnt changed.
