I was just wondering if anyone has any pics or reviews? I searched and came up with a thread by Loveless but the pics didn't work.

Right now I have 200mm H4 E-Code Hella headlights, since they're designed for europe they have a sharp cutoff line, unlike DOT headlights. I was just wondering what kind of results I would get with the Philips H4 Bi-Xenon (high/low beam) kit http://www.brightheadlights-hid.com/hid-9003.htm , it's the one all the way on the right.

Thanks,Mike

I think that would be a good system for the s-13. I think it would look sick "sleepy eye".

I'm looking into hid's too, but I'm concerned about which housing to use. I feel that if housings designed for halogens are used, it would detract from the performance of the hid's. And I'm not even thinking of retrofitting projectors into the pop-ups.

i intend to do the hid conversion when i find a decent s13 to buy....but i do have H4 lights in my subie and it works well.....its a bit brighter then other hids with the same brightness since the light isn t controled as well as a normal halogen bulb......but the house is made for halogen so......maybe that would help you out a bit(hid i had was from a bmw, a 9006 type, i converted the base with an h4 base so it would fit in my h4 housing)

once i do get it and mod it i will post it up......

so anyone got a white or black fast back for sale? hehehehe

I ran some mcculloch hid kit w/ 3 different h4 housings - glare like no other! It was bright tho.

I had to run them sleepy eyes to keep glare down, but then they weren't very bright.

The only way to really get it right is to retro fit, which is also very hard because it takes forever to line up that projector into the tiny housing - then you got a massive protrusion from the back that doesn't clear the area behind the headlights once installed.

I've been very frustrated with this project for the past few months.

Just remember, take your time, haha. Cuz it's gonna take a while to get a decent projector setup.

You can also pay clearcorners.com $2000 to do one .

For the housing... i've heard of sanding down the grooved pattern on the lens smooth, since they are made for halogens. Also just mess around with different types of shielding for the HID Bulb and you can reduce a lot of the glare

I found some good info at hidplanet.com. I wonder if the guy who posted is on Nico.

Well anyway, he has an s13 and was looking for smooth-lenses so he can install hids, and one of the members replied with what he would need in order to do a decent hid install.

"Get some Hella E-code housings, OEM ballasts, D2S bulbs, and Caspers H4 shields and you will be set. "

i run HIDs on my s13 and my only issue is the passenger light. seems that over my bumpy road, the connection into the the factory headlight plug bounces out sometimes. other than that, i can say with an iron fist that nothing lights up the road better than pop up headlights. lol. the glare is ridiculous but i light up things that shouldnt b lit up. things like cops in corners or animal eyes on the side of the road. just b wary of the manufacturers of the kits. i have a mcullough with high beams also. the high beam is a halogen bulb but they do have some that use the hid bulb as the high beam bulb. my color temp is 6500K for all the curious ones out there. ill try to post pics soon.

the pics works fine

you really don't need high beam due to how our housing is designed, I suggest you save the money and get single beam instead. IF you want to bind someone then get the dual beam.

I have had hid on 99 accord (stock reflector based lamp), the 94 integra (projector based lamp) on d2s type bulbs. Now I have d2s again on my flip light but catz came with the little reflector piece in the event that you want to change it to d2r type, whichi s what I did.

Did you ever upgrade the housing to a bosch or hella? if so, how are those in glare?
