This morning I drove up to the bus stop to tell my daughter by and my drives window would not go down. It would attempt (maybe 1/8") and then go back up. The same with the other three. It was only 26 degrees out and no moisture that I could tell. It's been colder but I don't recall trying to roll down the windows. As I drove to work they started working correctly. I figure they were frozen stuck? I've never had this problem with any car I've owned in the past, even with an inch of ice on the windows. Anyone else had this problem?

Yep. pretty weak as* motors huh. Does the rogue have a full window frame? The 350z has a feature that slides the window down 3/4" upon open and back up on close. this keeps the glass from being damaged. I've been pretty careful but i imagine its pretty easy to do some damage.

Yup,

Both '03 Altima and my '87 Pathfinder would do the same thing every winter. It seems a small amount of moisture collects in felt portion of the weatherstripping and freezes the window solidly in place. The power window motors have a safety feature that prevents damage, they will try to open and if the window doesn't move they will stop.

Surprisingly I have not had this problem with the Rogue yet.

The solution? Park the car in the sun and let the ice melt. You could also treat the window seals with some 303 Protectant. This should keep the ice from sticking to the weatherstripping in the first place.

I had this problem with every car that i owned. 2 95' altima, 97' a4, 07' tc, 94' & 99' & 03' galant and now with rogue. The only car that I had no problems with windows it was a 98 pontiac trans sport minivan because my windows were manual except I broke a window handle one day on that car caz i pushed too hard

Yup, had this problem too with all our cars. Granted, my Rogue seems to have the windows stuck more often because of that feature to prevent damage to the motors. My Dodge Ram I had before this...the motors would just go and go until they broke the ice, or you gave up. You could even see the headlights dim when really straining them with the engine running....I loved that truck.

One of those problems that happens with every vehicle in freezing temps. It isn't that the motors aren't strong enough, they're designed that way so they don't break the window or it's mechanism when trying to force it down when it's frozen.

Same here, noticed more on this car then the previous ones I owned. I try it once or twice and just wait for the interior to heat up before I try again. I don't have much confidence in the motor and feel if you continue it's going to burn out. I figure the weather stripping is retaining moisture (sponge like), freezes and window sticks to the edge of it. I had an '06 Altima prior to this and seems I've experienced this more on this car then the 3 years I owned the other one. The other problem is this car takes too long to start blowing hot air. So that just complicates things for me.

Wanted to share my experience with my 2010 Rogue S 360. I am on a daily basis finding that all 4 windows are frozen shut and take over 10 minutes after the car warms up to unfreeze. this is one of my disappointments, not to mention the slow defrost of the front window. But have been extremely happy with the performance in the snow that we have had in Boston.

The window seals are prone to trapping water as they have a felt contact surface. If you regularly experience thaw and freeze conditions, the windows will get stuck.

Unfortunately I don't know of any remedy. :(

If you live in a climate where you get snow and experience temperatures around or above freezing during the day, and then below freezing during the night, your windows will get stuck. Nothing really you can do with it, that's just the way it is.
My windows freeze up in the winter, but only if I go through a car-wash, or the temps get above freezing causing the snow to melt into the door seals. The majority of the time here, the temperature is below 25 degrees F, so there's no water to freeze up the windows.

I live in NY and my windows never go down when the temp is below freezing. The heating system in this car is by far the worst I have ever exeperienced in any car. THe front windows are ALWAYS, ALWAYS fogged and the wipers do absolutely nothing to get rid of condensation and they always freeze. THe car needs to "warm up" for 5-10 minutes before I cna leave the driveway. For a brand new I find this absolutely pathetic.

I dont have this problem at all. I live in NY and im in my first winter and I've never experienced my windows getting stuck.... But I dont really make it a habit of rolling them down when it is freezing outside. but there were times when there was ice on the windows too hard to scrap of and i rolled down each window so i could push the ice out from the inside. I had no issues with that....window went down normally. I've also never had fog accumulate on the windows so far. Maybe you really do have a 2012 rogue which doesnt exist and may not have been made by nissan?

do you clean the inside of the windows with windex or other glass cleaners? if the windows are dirty from the inside they will fog up...also fumes from interior cleaning products can get stuck to the glass so its a good idea to clean them regularly to prevent fogging

I have never experienced this problem either, and I live in a very cold and wet winter climate in Alberta, my windows always have ice and snow hanging off them and I go through a drive through most mornings and I've never had a window stick. That would really be a pain if you came up to the drive through window and couldn't get your window down.

I'm not sure why some of you are experiencing these problems while others are not.
