get a turbo with a ON CENTER turbine housing or else you're going to have to do some modifications. a straight T04B is a good turbo for the rev hard

The revhard is prone to cracking if you don't prep the manifold. Couple thing I did to mine when I had one:

1. Cut the head flange so that each port has it's own flange. The flange stays cooler than the runners and expands less. Cutting the reliefs between the ports will allow the runner sections of the mani to expand without putting stress on the joints.

2. Remove all flash castings. Not a huge concern, but typically, if it will want to crack, it will want to start at a sharp point somewhere. A dremel or drill mounted grinder bit will make this easy.

3. Drill out the head flange stud holes. They should become slightly bigger as you move to the outer most holes. As the manifold gets hot, it will want to expand it's overall size. The heads will expand as well, but not as much as the manifold as the heads will stay cooler overall. If the manifold expands more than the studs from the head to the mani will let it, it may shear the stud off. It could contribute to cracking, but it's likely the stud will break first.

These are actually good preventative tips that would apply to all manifolds. But the revhards are known to crack without good prep. I had got my XS Engineering kit used and the mani came with a nice crack in it. Tried having it fixed, but that only lasted 6 or so months until it cracke3d again and even worse than it was before. My second revhard had all the prep I mentioned and it worked flawlessly.

i cracked my first rev hard in a one year or 20K miles and my second rev hard is well prepped like how C-kwik said and it hasn't cracked in the last 2 years.

a normal 4.5" grinder with an 1/8" cut-off wheel will work fine for relief cutting. or an air grinder.

are the clearance issues only on the s14 because of the MC being different? Because I have the revhard and I was going for the turbonetics t3/t4 from jgstools on my s13, but that not be a good idea..?

look at the 2 pics structure just posted, you'll see one the turbine flange is in the center of the turbine housing, while the bottom pic the flange is offset

It's a bit easier to see in these pics:

on center:

Notice the center of the turbine inlet flange lines up with the center axis of the turbine.

tangential:

Note the turbine inlet flange is of to the side.

tangentials flow better than on-centers making a more effiecent and usually more powerfully setup
