At noon today on 280S in San Jose I saw a 91-92 Green Q45/president.... the rear lights, bumper, and trunk lid were all from a "President:. I had to get off the highway, so I only got a glimpse of the front end... looked like a 91/92 with an air dam. The exhaust had a nice non-stock rumble to it, too.

Looked in nice shape, but in progress.

Does it belong to anyone on here?

If all goes well, I'll have the only black one in NJ. Hopefully by the time it gets hot. I'm getting all my ducks in a row and plan on knocking them out in one shot. Swapping fenders isn't hard right? A pretty easy thing to do? Just bolt on right? I should hit the VIP forum again.

Probably Jesda's old Car =)

I ended up selling it with a Junction Produce front and rear kit, President Trunklid and President taillights, White on top, red on bottom.

had 350z wheels when I sold it.

Probably the car.... can't imagine many folks with a president rear trunk and lights. This did not have a rear spoiler, either.

Was the front air dam half painted? If so, that would clinch it.

No spoiler on trunk...lid is black... car is green.

Bumpers grey/blue/slate color.

Tan interior.

haha definately in progress.... i've been trying to get into NICO forums for a long time now & have been searching for "chinaonnitrous" for a while b/c he's 1 of the 'original' owners but yeah I am the owner! whoopie! im guessing "ericthered" is the 2nd gen kindof burgundy purpl-ish color 2nd get Q45t owner? haha, haven't seen alot of people that know what i finally got my hands onto... I've been trying to find the previous owners of the car cause my friend who i bought it from had told me the owner before him had the Junction Produce sideskirts for the car... so i've been trying to hunt those down... but now the Q's acting up & the power steering pump has gone out w/ lots of engine noise... was hoping to find any help around san jose.... if ANYONE could help me fix it cause i know of almost virtually no1 who knows anything about Q's around here... & no1 really into VIP too! only 1 person @ SJSU w/ a purple soarer... *sigh... i was hoping to ask also if there is any way to find a trunk lip spoiler that would add onto my rear trunk??? i've seen it on Q45t's... Thanks for the help! So glad the car is infamous now! Hope for help in the future!

HAHA!!! indeed... need to invest in alot of things... like 1st this car 'a work in progress' sh*T & after its 100% running & doesn't get beaten by an unknown white turbo maxima... then i'll finally buy myself a SLR w/ a tripod since i don't even know how to take pictures haha! hopefully people watching this post can help me find the users that have previously owned this vehicle! i wish to initiate contact with those people since this car has... 230k miles on it... & has had a transmission replacement i'm working backwards so the last person i know of has been listed as 'chinaonnitrous' & if anyone can help refer me to someplace to get the Q fixed i would really appreciate it even though i'd wish to refer to forums & do it myself... but driving without powersteering is a PAIN IN THE & engine noises are like fix me... i'm a poor college student so plz keep in mind budget!

Right here....

Not sure how the person ran the car after me. But I know the transmission took a dump on him.

I myself replaced the high pressure powersteerign lines, so that should be in good working order for you. The PS was probably ran dry.

If theres engine noise...why are you driving it? hahah. Hope its not serious. THat was a STRONG motor, I rarely took it close to redline, but its capable.

The sideskrits are unfortunately gone, I thought I left a message with Hao ming, but i guess he didn't get it, or pass it to you. The shop closed down, after a serious burglary.

There is a Trunklid here for you tho, you might want it, and a whole set of stock wheels, or even 2 sets.

Hate to say it, but that car is a BIG project from what it sounds like happend to it. I heard that he even ran the front brakes down to metal/metal... so i know you've got new front rotors/pads on it.

Hope your budget will be okay.

Oh, on that gauge pillar theres a wire harness in there with like 6 pins, if you could save that for me, I completely forgot about it, its to my EGT gauge.

As for that faded right side, that was a repair done, since the bumper cracked during shipping.

drftard,

Good to hear from you. I currently own a '92 as well as a 94 Q. I do almost all my own work, so I don't have a mechanic to refer you to except for a great suspension & alignments place. If you'd like, I could take a look at your Q with you as I am often near the SJSU stadium around lunch time.

haha great to hear from you! i haven't joined NICO for a while but after you singled me out i figured might as well try! & in time i hope... i just bought a power steering pump for the Q b/c it went out but i have no real past mechanical experience & have been hard pressed finding out how to do it... i've been searching the site for it, but im wondering if you've ever done that before on your 92' & what experience you've had with Q's in general since you've done almost all your work... b/c i hear my car has come from Jesda & it was taken care of in the past according to wes so hopefully the car is not in too bad of a shape...

I miss that car. So much.

I don't miss Q45s, just that particular one. How is the interior? The seating was toast when I sold it.

I miss riding in that Q too.

I would love it if Jesda could get it back and restore it to its former glory and finally make it look like how it used to.

It used to be such a lovely looking car with a sad interior.

I remember when I jury-rigged the MAF sensor, is that still in place? You can easily tell by the electrical tape over the soldered connections.

well jesda i will sincerely try my best to restore the Q to its former glory, and it seems u had the backing of many loyal friends in your earlier years...

i wish i could say the same currently, but its unfortunate to find very little infiniti enthusiasts down to meet & help but hopefully in the near future some will come

im looking forward to hopefully meeting eric since he is the 1 to first spot me in SanJO & hopefully larry for parts soon!

im very happy to actually meet 1 of the owners on today & will be posting pictures of my 1st gen w/ his 2nd gen soon...

the interior is still toast, & actually the front seats are in the worst condition, i've actually made it worse by taking out the rear seats & mats...but hopefully i can find someone in need for rear seats in the bay area so i can find front seat replacements which REALLY need it...

"thejapino" hopefully i can catch you @ jdmtheory...

will update soon! thanks for the help & car jesda!
