so ive been rolling it around, and im definately not going to keep my z stock. ive been looking into a bunch of the options for keeping it na, plenum&spacer, cold air, exhaust headers back, intake head, cams etc. what else should i be looking at if i where to keep it na?

my friend jeff who had a 240(turbo obviously), was trying to explain to me that all those mods would only add like 80 to the crank, but only 20 to the wheels, and that the only way i would feel any real difference is to turbo/super charge it. im a little nervious of the reliability of both. i definately couldnt afford for a blow-up, but i wouldnt mind running at least a 12. anyone with opinions/experience, or any dyno specs please resond

i dont agree with your friend!!!! if you make those mods you are looking at least 10-20% loss from crank to wheel HP..so if you get extra 80HP at crank, you should get at least 60-65HP at wheels, i beleive . im not to fond of turbos and superchargers they put too much stress on engine parts!!!

look at the video that i posted power of a 350z..... i have intake, spacer, headers back to single exhaust, 3 incj piping.. injectors, cam gears and tuned with greddy e-manage ultimate... ur friend is right... with simple bolt on expect like 25 whp gain around there.... but these bolt ons r essential because once u tune it the difference is remarkable... well just see for urself... look at the video... ohhh by the way the z in the video is automatic....

well only if the HP crank gains are not real, but...crank HP to WHP is a difference of 10-20% HP loss. example 2007 g35 sedan 306 at crank HP..to the wheels is around depending in weather!!! 260-265 HP at the Wheels !!! maybe you only get 25 HP extra at the crank with these mods!!! minus max loss 20% at the wheels, you get about 20 HP at the wheels!!!

mods on intake;headers and exaust.that have to do with airinduction..are very tricky HP gains!!! they could claim 20HP at wheels..but remember,, dyno test is not the same as driving and getting fresh air all the time on the road. in a dyno test, the car is not moving and not getting fresh air!! so they tend to give lower numbers!! there should be a dyno test while you drive on the road!!

i checked out the video, and i give it two thumbs up, definately sexy... im wondering though what you did, completely and what it cost you, ball park. did you do it yourself or did you have a shop down in miami do it? did you ever run a 1/4 up at moroso or anywhere down there? any info would be appreciated.

a good dyno shop has giant directed fans taht flow anough air to simulate real world conditions well enough, and yes crank to wheel expect 15=20% loss, all the bolt ons can only do so much, 2-25 whp inprease if you buy all the goodies, but for the cost of all of them you could just about get forced induction and you can expect at least 100 whp increase form the smallest sc kit, most turbo and bigger sc kits net 120-140 whp increase

I'm driving a stock 07. If you want to run 12s go forced induction or NOS. Bolt ons in general are a waste of money. For the small gains you payout big $. A Stillen true dual setup is $1200, a Stillen intake is $400, both together will net you about 15hp at the flywheel. A Zex NOS kit is the best bet for the money. You can run a 125hp shot only when you need it and not hurt your mileage for the real world. It also costs under $1000 for everything including installation. I'm not going to BS you. I'm a powertrain design engineer for an automotive company and don't buy the widgets, that should tell you something.

In my Z i had K&N filter in modded rev-up airbox= best results

Crawford Headers, Stillen TP, Injen true dual exhaust with x pipe.

3.9FD with Nismo LSD

plenum spacer.

On a NA map in the UTEC

With all this I was trapping close to 107 in my Z 1000' above Sea level, never dyno'd but it was fun for a short period.

Now, TN single turbo, 3.5 FD, 3" Single Exhaust, Methanol injection, 650cc injectors. Not yet finished. Retuned and with c16 and meth looking for 500 whp and low 11s @ 12x traps on DRs.

I'm on my 2nd 350z. Modded both. If a forced induction is done properly it will not cause much stress or damage your engine! Right now i have an 05 track model z. Stillen true dual, and vortech super charger ( because i wanted something easy and safe) When it was dynoed last year i put down 380 rwh 309 rwt. Not tuned! I finally took it to the track. Iv'e only tracked it 2 differ. days. My best time w/ super charger is 12.9@111mph. Mind you i spun 1st and 2nd gear w/ a 60 ft in the 2's. If it was tuned and i had traction i would hit low 12's. And it's safe! I would skip all the bolt this and that and NO 20's, or nitrous and go for all time reliable power! Turbo on the other hand, is faster more torque, but not as safe! Just my input, hop it help!

ya, im actually leaning more towards that direction, i think im just going to get a small warranty and stick with bolt on parts for a few years until im out school, and after that supercharge it. ive heard sc is 10 times safer than the tt's. the 12.9 isnt too sexy, but like you said, no traction.
