Anyone who has seen my post recently knows that I got ripped off and I'm in the process of getting my car back together. I had a tv dvd player in my dash and because the theif left the brain and other components to my unit I was able to get a used unit w/o those components for next to nothing (50 bucks) I also got an air conditioning unit for 45 shipped, but my problem is I don't know anything about stereos and stuff like that, but it looks like the dude might have taken the mounting peices when it took my stereo. I just don't see any place where the installer would be able to mount there stereo. Anyone who knows what it is suppose to look like back there PLEASE tell me what I'm missing and where I would need to go to get it. Thanks!

I don't know if thats what I need (that's my question). Can anyone tell from the picture if that is what I'm looking for? Do I have to get oem brackets or do stereo installers carry this sort of thing?

If you look at this guys picture on E Bay http://cgi.ebay.com/Radio-CD-C...wItemyou will see the factory radio and AC unit mounted to the bracket which screws inside the dash and the wood trim goes over it. You will probably need this bracket and maybe some kind of trim if your LCD is not double din size.

Here is one that shows the bracket and the AC unit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V

looking at all the pics i figured out that u are going to need the brackets from the car. radio installers do not carry those brackets. a good one could manufacture somthin to work but as far as the bracket that is factory supply. best bet is to go to a junk yard and tell them that u need the brackets. if ur mechanical at all try to get them to let u into the yard to pull it urself. that way u will know how it all goes back together. chances are that they may not be to sure if they have it so they'll want u to go get it. and if thats the case haggle with them to try and get the price down for doing the legwork urself.

or just get the brakets from Gerardjg, cause sounds like hes got what u need

if he doesnt, i definently do have a spare set. only down side is, they are a lil scratched up, but they fit perfectly fine. i had a hard time gettin my stereo out of the brackets, i ended up using a drill to drill out the screws.

Well I guess it doesn't matter if they are scratched because you can't see them, right? ( I didn't know they were there in the first place...lol)

I love it, some light at the end of the tunnel that's been my life ever since my beloved J30 got broken into. Its odd how a seemingly small gesture of kindess can mean so so much when things seem really down and out. I look forward to having the oppertunity to help another nico member in the same way you helped me

Gerardjg, I just got the brackets yesterday. Thanks a million brother. I thought I would be able to at least get the ac installed myself, but under further investagation this weekend I couldn't find the connections to the back of the unit within the dash. I believe the person who ripped it out didn't unplug anything and just pulled as hard as he could until the wires snapped. So I'm basically screwed. I'm going to take what I have and bring it to an auto electrician and see what they tell me. I'll give yall any update when I have one, but I had no clue on earth that getting your stereo stolen would be thing big an ordeal.

Good luck man, sorry about the break in!

I don't think it should cost you more than a couple hundred at an electrical repair shop and everything should be back to normal!

Glad to hear you found what you needed cheap!

Your Welcome

You should check with some of the people here that are parting out J 30sand get the AC, Radio, Ash Tray connectors cut back as far as they can reach or the harnesses it will make your electricians job a lot easier,

There is pbobaly something shorted in there causing your light and security alarm problems.

Good Luck
