'Cause for some reason I have a spare copy on Steam. So if someone's interested, it's yours. Post up your Steam username and I'll send it over.

Since no one's biting, I sent it to my brother. His poor little Core 2 Duo with Geforce 6800 will probably crap itself all over the floor. But the world needs more turn-based strategy gamers dammit.

Only strategy game I ever really liked was Fire Emblem.

Fire Emblem is really good. Persistent characters and permadeath set it apart. It took a lot of simple mechanics and wove them into a pretty impressive strategic tapestry.

Yeah, not to mention you actually end up acting for your characters in some way or another, so if and when they die, it's even worse.

I'm actually hoping to pick up the new 3DS Fire Emblem as soon once I have some spare gaming cash again.

I keep wanting to get a 3DS, but then I find a hard time justifying it. I just don't think I'd play it often. Though I would play the remastered Zelda OOT over and over and over. Along with probably my favorite game of all time, Star Fox 64.

There are LOTS of good virtual console games for it, too. Although the one I want most (Super Metroid) has yet to hit the US eShop.

SOME of my library:

That's:
Super Mario 3D Land
Paper Mario: Sticker Star
New Super Mario Bros. 2
Lego LotR, Kirby's Adventure
Metroid
Zelda
Zelda II
and Zelda: Link's Awakening all on the home screen.

I also have:
Cave Story
NightSky
Tetris
ExciteBike
Donkey Kong
Kid Icarus (NES)
Super Mario Land 1 and 2
Super Mario Bros. 1 and 2 (Japanese 2, not American 2)
Dr. Mario
Metroid II
Kirby's Dream Land
Wario Land
Earthworm Jim
Xevious
Puzzle Quest
Ghosts & Goblins
and a handful of other games in the folders.
ALL downloaded to the device and playable any time.

That makes for a very strong argument. Maybe when I get some spare cash to blow on vidjuh games I'll look that way.

A 5-hour multiplayer game (which is nowhere NEAR complete) last night got me back into this game. Started a singleplayer game on an "archipelago" style map. It's so much fun settling on peoples' tiny islands and cutting off their options for expansion! "This little patch of desert is pretty useless. I don't need it. But I need you not to have it. So it's mine."

What's your longest game so far?
I have a 13 hour domination game between 7 civs on a huge "pangea" map.
Tears actually weep from the exhaust ports of my laptop when I fire up that save.

Honestly, I don't know. Probably 20-plus hours on a Huge map, and that one still in the Renaissance era.

Need to get yourself a copy of Panzer General II, best turn based wargame I've played.
