so i swapped the new KA in with the help of some friends

we got most of it done, but whats left was some stuff like the intake, radiator, ac compressor, p/s pump, battery, alternator, etc.

they left me this big *** book (FSM) which has most of my questions answered, but it doesnt have ANYTHING on the alternator, and ive been looking online for a good 15 minutes and found jack sh*t

im just dying to drive my fcking car cause its been about a month, so anyonie wanna tell me where the alternator goes and how to put it in?

edit: k so common sence let me figure out where it goes and where it moutns by looking at pictures on google, but theres a bunch of plugs comin out in my car, and theres like 5 and only 4 are for the alternator, and theres some **** thats obvious, but some i dont know whats what, and i dont wanna plug the wrong thing into the atlernator and blow it up or not have the alternator work and kill my battery

Alternator is mounted on the intake side of the car, parallel with the water pump.

You will need a 8mm,10mm, 12mm, 14mm, and maybe a 17mm.

Step 1Release tension on the alternator by loosening the tensioner assembly above the alternator and move belt to the side. Use your 12 and 14mm here.

Step 2Remove the connections behind the alternator. Use your 8 and 10mm here.

Step 3From under the car, begin to unbolt the alternator. It takes a little finesse to wiggle the alternator downward. Use your 12, 14, and possibly 17 here.

Step 4Reverse of removal. Getting the alternator up in there is tricky since its a tight fit. As long as you can get the lower part of the alternator, the rest is pie.

well we got one of the bolts in (the really long one), but thers another hole in the alternator for the bolt, and idk which bolt it is or what it looks like, and i cant even figure out where it goes

what we did was rotate the alternator and on the top where the bolt hole is, theres htis long hole thats like a line, in the enigne area and the hole lines up perfectly with it, but im not understanding how this works

plus theres a whole bunch of differnet grounds that i dont know what goes to what

long and thick bolt belongs at the bottom the alternator and connects it to the engine, and there is a nut that resembles a square plate that holds the long bolt down. up top your shorter 12 or 14mms are for the tensioner (along with this square looking thing with threads in it).

the connections behind the alternator are simple. the small eyelet terminal threads onto the alternator with an 8mm bolt. the larger eyelet terminal is physically bigger and is held down with a nut and stud already on the alternator. the larger terminal is for battery positive, the smaller terminal is ground. then finally plug on your multipin connector.
