I was wondering what the best body style of 240 would be for strictly quarter mile only racing and if anyone has even seen a back-halved 240. If so, does anyone know how to do it?

I have never seen one outside of NHRA NOPI racing and I was wanting to do something like that and have it driveable on weekends and eat people up at the strip. I don't care about cornering for this car.

I have not purchased a 240 yet. I do not want to purchase one until I have done some fairly extensive research for best model year and engine/transmission combo for this application.

I only seem to encounter drifter and Autocross 240s andI wanted to try something a little different. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Yep. We've seen a few.

Aries, I believe, has some tube framing in the front of his S14 with an LS1.

Ivan from AMS Performance (turbo240.com) may have some insight here, and Ryan Klatt (KA-T.org) may as well.

I like the tube chassis from that URL that you posted but all they had underneath it was some 10.5s. I was looking to get some 33"x17"s under it which would require shortened axles and a shorter rea end housing. And, also, it didn't show anything on tubbing the fenders to fit. I also am more interested in keeping the subframes and strengthening them with subframe connectors instead of trying to use my limited welding skills to fab an entire chassis. Any sites or threads on how to go about this? Also, are there any preferred Nissan 4 CYLs and trannys for drag racing? I wanna do this on 4-banger power.
