The reason people run the q45 is because the greddy intake manifold is flanged for that size throttlebody. Any other manifold will require modifications to use another throttlebody

The q45 throttlebody will idle high if the cold start unit is hooked up and you don't have any water lines going to it. As the coolant heats up and flows through the TB, the cold start unit will lower the idle. If you choose not to run the water lines to the TB, which is pretty much everyone, then the unit must be disabled.

Wiring is also simple. All the tps units work the same and wire up the same. Just wire up the plug pin for pin. The center wire will always be the signal wire. If for some reason the tps doesn't work after wiring, then you probably have the left and right wires swapped... if they are don't worry you won't mess up the tps unit, just swap the wires. Just make sure the center signal wire gets wired up to the center signal wire

bumping old thread.. i need to find out. I have 2 harnesses on bolt on RB25 SII, running emanage ultimate.

I spliced one harness and hooked up signal wires from one of the factory harness to the Q45 TB, i got a TPS signal and rescaled my o-100%, but i still have a 1800 rpm idle. I adjusted the AAC valve all the way in. And i adjusted the Q45 TB to be complete closed at its natural position with that tiny little screw on the bottom.

I notice there is an actually adaptor on the Q45, and from what i read that is Idle verification? would that be connected to my other factory harness coming from the RB25 SII TB?

I remembered it idled fine for a day or two around 1000 rpm, now its back up to 1800.

And for some reason, at idle, there sounds like a HUGE vacume leak but its actually from the sound of air rushing in from valve covers through the check valve. When i pinch it.. idle goes down.
