hey is anyone using the GT2871R??

i think i am about to buy it.

thinking of getting the T25 flanged 0.64 A/R one and HKS internal wastegate..

andyone used this turbo on a CA??

its supposed to spoool better tha the GT25R (GT2540R) which spools at almost 5000rpm on the CA, which is worse than my T3/T04E .63 A/R.. but i think that was the .86 A/R on MK1 Cortinas car..

HKS wastegate wont work on it, but in any event, I plan on running the .64 A/R 2871R on mine. Looks to be a good turbo. I know http://www.thespeedfactor.com has em on sale for $975 til the end of the week.

he said wastegate, not acuator

in any case, I dont know why it won't work either, is it because it already have a built in wastegate?

The actuator rod on the HKS is a lot longer than the one that comes on the 2871R. Also, the HKS attaches on the outside of the housing on the T25 and it attaches on the inside of the 2871R.

Here is a pic of the HKS actuator on my T25....

HMMMM NO

i found some SR users are using the HKS actuator, so it can work... just bend the rod to thelenght needed, and making a flange to bolt the actuator to the compressor doesnt seem to be that big a deal.

but looks like prices on GT BB turbos are going up drastically.

Yea, they're getting pretty crazy. Ahh, the beauty of the effects of supply and demand.

and my top mount was a custom set up and doubt it would have fit any application you had.. i also had to cut it to get the 5 bolt flange from it.

get the flanges needed and got to a muffler shop and let them make one for you from 3" mild steel

I was under the impression that hls aculator was adjustable for boost pressure.

If paired with a decent boost controller, what good will a hks aculator do?

tis holds boost better than the stock actuators, its got a stronger diaphram, and so can controll more boost (~20-22psi maybe more) without boost levels spiking/surging or falling off
