Instead of buying the grids i was thinking about, my car still isnt slammed. A set of tein superdrifts came up for sale locally with around 6k miles on them. Hes looking for $800 and my stock suspension, which isnt a bad price considering they are around $1,600 new

Also, im pretty sure they are EDFC compatible which is a plus

Id much rather buy coils than a second set of wheels. The only thing im wondering is if they are good coilovers for autocross and road racing. According to the description they are tuned specifically for drifting. Obviously they will still handle better while grip driving (autocross, road racing) than struts and springs, but im wondering if these make the car really loose and un-stable while flying through turns at high speeds if you want to maintain grip and go fast

Yes i love drifting and i will be drifting my car at the track often, but i will also be doing autocross, and when i can afford it, i will definatley be doing occasional road racing. Primarily its my daily driver, which brings me to my other question

does anybody daily on these? The specific ones im looking at are 10k and 8k, which isnt too far from the 7 and 9k that id prefer coilovers to be. Do these ride smooth on roads or would you feel every bump in the road?

thanks in advance

superdrifts come as 10f/8r. thats just how they are. EDFC isnt something cool enough to plan for. its not that hard to get out and adjust manually anyway.

ive had superdrifts since 06. you can get them real real low, and theyre still some of the smoothest coils ive yet to experience.

I agree but its also a deciding factor. I originally was gonna wait to found a set of used D2s for cheap, or just save up and get stance GR +, but i came across these which arent bad.

Cool thing about EDFC is i can have it stiff to be messing around, and then i can adjust it to be softer if i wanna go hop on the highway right after and want a smooth ride.

and so since your saying they are some of the smoothest, im assuming they arent bumpy? Ive looked on google for a few reviews but from what i can see they are described as bouncy by some people. Also would you say they make your car really loose at high speeds?

smoothest operating, is what ill say. as in, my suspension feels way safer doing all the s*** i do than any of my friends 240s. speeding on the highway, cutting backroads, sideways on the track or whatever.

and since my cars unreasonably low, i keep the front coils dampening all the way still, with the rears just a few clicks shy of the stiffest. EDFC would be a waste for me and my slammage. haha

so basically what you are saying is the way they perform is smooth, but you cant say anything about the ride quality because your slammed all the way anyways?

for the settings my coils are at, theyre still way smoother than my friends setups. i used to love having the dampers softened up, i just cant do that anymore.

i figure its worth it, especially with low miles on them and a killer price.

Yup, im pretty sure im gonna get em just cause if i dont like em i can sell em and get other coils. These will do for now

but basically your saying if you have the dampers set to soft, its not that bad of a ride? I dont plan on slamming my car to the ground, i just want to get rid of fender gap, i still want to be able to get over speed bumps and be able to take dips in the road

the softer settings on my coils are really smooth riding in my opinion.

i think that you would be able to use them for multipupose yes they are for drift but wouldnt hurt you a lot lot for other apps. even if they wernt ideal

thats a good price 2 years ago i got my tein HE coilovers used with roughly the same miles for 750 so this looks promising

and they slammmm but your not going to slam you say but if you wanted too they would lol

Yup, any coils are better than stocks, but i want well rounded coils, not just ones that are biased tward drifting and arent really that great compared to regular coilovers for other motorsports

I was talking about the tie-rods.

I know stance, silkroad, KTS and higher end tein are geared more toward grip.
Yes, I know they're more but those are in whole other $$ range.

If anything just get them and trade them for something else. Well worth there asking price.

The way I see it unless a $800 R34 goes on sale all you really need is gas money after this.

ah yes, one of the few honest people under 1000k posts ive met.

also, i cant use tein tie rods because ive found that im no longer able to use the 'balljoint/boot' type tie rod. the angle of my tie rods is too much for the boot, so they wear out really really fast. a lot better with the pillowball type tie rods.
