anyone using stock IC on CA?

hey everyone....

just wondering how many of yall are using the stock IC and how efficient is it? any problems with it? i'm probably going to start my budget s13 project soon and will want to run the CA completely stock (except for intake and exhaust) for awhile. also while i'm posting, is the SR T28 a direct bold on to the CA manifold?

Im running a SR smic, same thing as the ca one. No problems yet, but it does get very hot, epecially if you up the boost. My CA is still basically stock. Just an intake, stock SR downpipe, 3" test pipe, 3" catback exhaust. Still at stock boost

The T28 bolts on, i think you have to make some changes to the oil and coolant lines.

thanks nismo...yeah i don't plan on upping the boost until i get a FMIC. one more question: are the SR and CA basically the same deal, or is there an advantage to running the SR compared to the CA side mount?

i think theyre are both the same, never seen a CA smic in real life. Maybe the sr one is bigger due to the displacement and more hp? can anyone verify this.

Yep, the SR SMIC is bigger than the CA one (a few more rows and a little bit thicker).

I am using the CA sidemount. It's a bit different than the SR one. It looks like the SR has the pipes on the endtank bolted onto it, while the CA has plastic endtanks with the fittings molded onto it.

I will take some pics of it and show you guys the difference.

so does the SR sidemount bold right up to the CA? i'm guessing so since nismo is running one on his CA.

yes it does...the SR piping works as well. Joe and I both used stock SR pipes, as did Nismo (I think)...

I used my CA cold pipe and the SR hot pipe you lent me.
