Hi people how are you all? I know the whole deal with BoostDesigns.com but back a few months I purchased quite a bit of stuff from him (turbo, manifold, downpipe..etc..) and I received everything very quickly. My KA-T project got pushed back because of personal setbacks, but I am now getting ready to start hammering it again. Im wondering if any of you are using the manifold, Im curious to see how it's holding up. Btw the manifold is still his older design. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated guys. Thank you.

The manifold is a POS. I had to reweld it and grind on it a ton. The wastegate extension also fell off at the collector. My suggestion is add all sorts of bracing and port the runners out so they actually don't disrupt flow. The merge collector was also rough on mine and I spent at least an hour on it just to get to acceptable levels.

Also the entry point from the collector to the wastegate had to be grinded out because obviously it hadn't been. If I would have left it, it probably would have effected boost levels (either creep or slow spool).

We have used a few of the manifolds. They have held up fairly well on our motors. We had one come back cause the weld on the wastegate elbow cracked at the collector. Other than that they're a fairly well constructed manifold. The image shows our crate motors. Mike's personal motor uses a BD manifold.

scary enough, My bd exhaust mani bolted up fine and I have yet to have a problem out of it. Ive been running it for about 5 or 6 months. As many problems that I had out of that guy, the mani. wasnt one of them thank God. On the other hand, I could write a book on the other things I had problems with.

Thx for all the feedback. Seems like the Wastegate tube seems a common problem amongst some here. I was thinking of just cutting the Downpipe WG tube, welding it shut, and just run the WG to atmosphere. Im goign to look at intercoolers soon, Im getting my engine from him soon, he doesn't build anymore, it seem to do BD.com business anymore. I'll keep you guys posted.

No, no, no. It's not the wastegate RECIRCULATION tube that's the problem. It's the tube for the wastegate that is directly off the MANIFOLD itself, mine literally just FELL OFF at the weld. Randomly on the freeway. I run my wastegate open atmosphere, the ****ty steel and ****ty welds don't hold up well over time. I would add extra bracing to it.

Oh!! lol. In that case I'll see what I can do about it. I learned that paying less doesn't mean a better product. Next time I WILL invest more money and have the piece of mind that it'll be good. Im never buying "budget" stuff again. Thx poeple.

ive used mine for 3 months now and no problems. for added insurance, check the welds and have a muffler shop reweld it and add braces for like 40 bucks.

I have a better question... anyone able to find PJ?? He sells all this stuff with a warranty, and I had no less than 7 welds break on that manifold. Funny, he won't return my e-mail. Is there something going on with BD that I don't know about?

Thx for all the replies folks. Im going to be using it, if it goes to hell, then Ill get another one. Im going to have the turbo he sent me checked out. It says garret on the compressor and turbine housing and all, but it still has a bit of shaft play, he claims it's cause of 360 bearing and will be ok once oil pressurizes it. Thx for replies.

Hmm, I don`t think mine has any shaft play. I just checked it out a couple of days ago after we pulled the engine and transmission.
