i have a full race manifold but it weighs a ton. is anyone running one of these and if so did you brace it to the engine to prevent the studs from breaking or pulling out of the head? also what turbo's have been run on this manifold? thanks for any help.

how do you figure those studs are going to break? the same studs (m8) are the ones on two corners of your motor and they're strong enough to suspend the entire motor+trans. if 4 of them can hold up your motor+trans, i don't really see 12 of them not being able to hold up a manifold+turbo.

for a turbo, ssauto sells some... that might help offset the thousands you already spent on the manifold and the wastegates you still need to buy

seriously though, the turbo depends on your hp goals. most run gt40 or gt42 with that manifold

i wouldnt worry about it. but then the stud s that was use on the cast manifold may have been stretch. if you are worried, upgrade to a new set of manifold studs.http://phase2motorsports.stores.yahoo.n ... texst.html

deff on upgrading, cause i went to back my nuts off the stock manifold, and the stud broke off halway in and had to tap it out.. happened to the furthest one on the top left, and one the furthest right.. only 2 of them luckily.. you bet i bolt brand new studs...

thats why i asked if any has braced the manifold. when i replaced my head gasket with a cometic one i had 5 broken studs to deal with. with the manifold and large turbo i am guessing it will weigh about 80 lbs. i can live with broken studs but i dont want to worry about the studs pulling out of the head.
