I bought an hks sld (speed limit defencer) and installed it and nothing changed I still top out at 98.7 in 4th gear at about 6.5k rpms. It states on the box that its meant for s13s but maybe its just me yellow wire with green stripe is speed sensor right?? what happens if you just cut the speed sensor wire??

from what I read once you cut the yellow green stripe wire then the 4th and 5th gear cut is right next to the speed limiter cut so you have to dissable those also try unplugging those sensors

i was told before that if you cut those wires you will lose your tach an speedo once you shift to 4th and 5th... so youll need an aftermarket tach.... correct me if im wrong...

If you cut the speed sensor wire before the ECU and after the speedometer, then your speed cut will be gone. You still have your speedo because the speed sensor sends it there first, then to the ECU. Your tach is not related at all so it doesn't affect it. I have had mine cut for almost a year now with no ill effects. I had to cut it because my speed sensor is the wrong one for my engine/chassis combo (S13/S14) and so it was reading twice the speed and I would hit the cut off at ~60MPH. Use this information at your own risk.

the yellow wire with a green stripe was cut and its kinda wierd cause going up a hill the car cuts off at 6k in 3rd and then sometimes it will go all the way till 6k in 5th either way it still cut off....hmmm still trying to find a method....going to try the 4th and 5th gear sensors next

What pgt892 did, worked for me as well. I have an S13 SR20DET Blacktop with the E5 ECU.

Also, there are no 4th and 5th gear sensors on the SR transmission. Only neutral and reverse position sensors.
