The shuffle will not work with the EX as other iPods would ... it does not have the "traditional" Apple iPod connection port on the bottom as other iPods do (all it has in a headphone jack - which is why it comes with a special base that plugs into your PC's USB port - the jack is used to sync the iPod, charge the iPod, and to listen to the music with your headphones). The iPod harness that came with your EX (if you have the Premium package) cannot plug into the shuffle. You can still use the shuffle but only as you would any other generic mp3 player (plug it into aux port to play it through your audio system - but do not expect to control it with the steering wheel controls or see any kind of display on the car's screen). You are better off buying the cheapest Nano you can find ... or buying a used full blown iPod (mini, nano, touch, etc.)
