I am planing on doing an SR swap in my 92 as soon as My civic Sells. One of my plans is to run a water/Air IC. The engine bay is setup really nice for it and the charge piping will be shortest possable. Just wondering why I haven't found any disscusion on this topic searching these forums + freshalloy.

I've never seen a Air to Water intercooling setup for the SR.

You can try using one and have it mounted behind the radiator.

Generally air/liquid intercoolers are used on race applications only. I think you would be causing more problems than it's worth by using it on a street car. Stick with the Greddy RSPL or Greddy 3-row if you plan on making lots of power and you'll be fine.

Yes generally air/liquid intercoolers are used on race applications, but there are cars that come stock with air/liquid intercoolers. I say if you got the money go for the air/liquid intercooler set up...don't have to worry about heatsoaking in traffic. :ylsuper

Well for the money that most people spend on a FMIC I can do a water/air setup. So cost isn't an issue just wonder why it isn't done more often. I guess I will find out when I try it.

Where can you get this setup done from?

This is where I would get the core from

http://www.pwr-performance.com/page867169.htm

The other parts (Front heat exchanger/oil cooler, resavoir, and pump are easy to come by. Should be able to do the whole setup for around 800.

Also, from an efficiency standpoint for the cost and the size on most applications the FMIC is better... Air/Water setups are mostly used on vehicles where there isn't enough room for a FMIC... Or as pointed out, on a race vehicle but they also use such things as nitrous and dry ice cooling systems.
