Well I think I've decided on the size to get...now just have to figure out the brand. Came across Toyo in another forum...anyone with 'em on their G? They're much cheaper than most, and the specs are the same or better than even the mighty F1's (280 AA A).

For the money, best tire out there. IMO

I have had Michellen's that went for $285 a tire and the Toyo T1R at $245, not as goog but pretty close and for the price is just right for me. You want to read the wear grade on the tire. The higher the rating the longer it will last, but it will be a harder tire too. If I remember right the Michellen's had a rating of 245 the Toyo T1R has a rating of about 280. A offroad tire will have something like 400 or more and some of your more softer tires may go down to about 200. They will wear out after about 10,000 miles where the Michellens I had lasted about 12,000 miles ( I am talking about my rear tires, they will wear out faster than the front ) My Toyos have about 14,000 or 15,000. miles on them and they are about due for replacement. Also remember that I have offset wheels so I can not rotate mine. You can get more out of them if they are all the same size. But why would you want that?

Thanks guys! That's what I was hoping to hear.

I've decided to go with Toyo T1R's

245/35 front275/35 rear

I'll post pics when I get 'em on.

Does anybody know if a 4-wheel alignment can be done at other places besides the dealer?

Joe,I had toyo's on my pathy and they were crap, so I replaced them with michelins. However, the tire place I deal with told me that they make much better performance tires for cars than SUV's. I would consider Toyos for my cars. Also, I had read that the wear rating (280) was only good for comparing tires within the same brand. That you couldn't compare across brands because the number is calculated differently for each brand.....Also, I would think any tire place could do your alignment.

I have Bridgestone Potenza RE750's on my cobra and they have been great!! Will be going with something cheaper in the future tho.

Impossible to compare treadwear between brands as the manufacturer tests and assigns a number only valid for their brands..............little honest correlation between brands as mostly used as a marketing tool.

However a index of 100 does approximate 10,000 miles.

The problem is the wear is extrapolated from an 8,000 mile Texas Road test and manufacturers have learned how to cheat by making the initial wear low and the later mileage wear may accelerate.

Most sites WARN not to use wear index between brands!

I got my Toyo's for $860 shipped in those sizes....That leaves about 1200 for rims. However, if you do get rims, go wider for both. Do a 9" up front and at least a 10" out back. You'll be happy with the resulting look of the tires on fatter rims.

The stock size for the front 19's is 8 and the rear is 8.5. 9 and 10 will look much better because it will allow you to put on wider tires.
