That must be the inserts only, right?
Considering he's military, he probably gets them from AAFES and close to cost.

Noooooooo. I've bought wipers anywhere from Autozone to Amazon. But not AAFES. That place is terrible.

Tell me about it. I used to work for them, and with all the financial trouble, I blame that company for most of the national deficit we have.

I stole a pair of these from my last job. It saved me $44 (scam!). Not only that but I dont think they lasted 6 months. Michelin blades it is from now on. That $4.99 crap lets me down everytime.

I will have to agree with MoD. Having new blades 4 times a year means that blades fail you 4 times a year, sometimes when you need them most.

I got Michelin wipers from Walmart for like $6 each, and they work f*** awesome.
Then again we don't really do bad weather out here, so my demands may be a bit low.

How did you get Michelin wipers for $6? Were they Michelin Radius?

The bendable wiper thing is not a scam. Metal framed ones always leave streaks and miss water, plus they only last a year if that. Ive used bosch icons for about 3 years now on all my vehicles and they are amazing. My dad was never a believer in them until he drove my car in a hellacious rain storm lol. Now he uses them as well. Pricey but worth it. They last 2x as long.

agree with cheese,

but some of them don't last that long because it's still a rubber squeegee and subjected to sun oxidation (dryrot) like the traditional wipers

if the edge wears out, there's no easy refillable inserts as well (i've went to other forums for people trying to do so, but it's a PITA)

i went to an eBay seller that has a limited lifetime warranty on this design & since it was priced pretty close to brick n' mortar stores, i took the plunge & installed them on the wifey's Acura MDX

and

printed out the receipts for when the time comes to collect, i gots da documentation :gapteeth:

-----------------------

silicone blades are the bomb and if they combine that with this newer design, i'll be in for a set as well

i still have a set of original silicone blades (with the traditional frame) on my 240, for the past 6-7 years now... i lost count; a good wipe down with washer fluid from time to time & it's still providing a streak free wipe :dblthumb:

the only reason why i "upgraded" to this style is the ease of cleaning snow off the windshield & it doesn't freeze up at the joints :bigthumb:

EDIT: well i'll be darned... triple edge has put a set out for exactly what I was describing!

and the warranty:
