Akebono makes a lot of the OEM pads to Nissan specifications. Might as well get the correct OEM ones from Joe.

I think Akebono Ceramics ARE the oem application for the Q.

They appear to be very good pads. Hawks are also very, very good pads. I've used the track compound on a couple of cars. 300zx guys like them.

DO NOT get Axxis Metal Masters.

Akebono pads rock. They stop the Japanese bullet trains, and like others mentioned, they're OEM on many Japanese cars. Akebono and Nissin are probably on 99% of Japanese cars as stock.

kevin i have been using them for over 2 years now, get the Akebono Pro-Act's they r their top of the line, great pads great stopping power and little dust. the pro-act have the "breather cut" all of the way thru, the shims are great peel and stick comes with the graphite brake quiet. I buy them wholesale for my Q for $63.00 front and less for the rearjames

Only caveat is the temperature limit for Pro Act...........discussed on their own website....[ceramic falling off a cliff temperature vs metallic]............when you decompose oem you will find a small % metallic oxides to extend the ceramic working temperature.

Remember oem has U-91 and U-93 front pad choices which work well with U-85 rear [no choices in rear] ==== Hitachi compounds.

Impossible to find original OEM U-90 pads which stopped in 129 feet.

Something never done is to use two different pad compounds on the same caliper............might be interesting research.

One compound on inner, different on outer? But which in chich location?

Pads seem to wear evenly now, so.......what would be the advantage?

Each pad could have a different friction vs temperature curve [shape] and each pad could have a different friction vs application speed curve.

Microscopic pad roughness vs. squeel...........look and compare with a microscope or even magnifying lens.

http://www.angstrom.uu.se/trib...s.pdf

A negative u velocity relationship increases the squeel propensity and the quality of backing plate determines the bending rate that determines the squeel intensity!

My pads SQUEEL = you bought cheaply made pads not necessarily cheap pads.

There is no such thing as a 100% full ceramic pad.........maybe 50-51% ceramic. composition. All ceramic means is more ceramic than metal or semi metal. oxides.
