Just wired up everything on this spiffy SPAL auto fan controller. The manual on switch works but I can't seem to get it to read from the stock 2 wire water temp sensor.

It says it's design to work with all OEM and aftermarket temp sensors on the market.

you need to program the controller to read the signal from the OE sender.

I have installed one into an RB25 s13. Like lonestar said, you need to make sure you program it to kick on at certain temp. Its not like the DiF controller which has a specific setting for nissan or honda. You actually need to have a water temp gauge other than the stock cluster. When the gauge reads a certain temp like 76deg you press a button to program the first fan, then press the button again at like 80deg to program the second fan.

Also the controller has this weird failsafe system built into that will put the unit into a sort of limp mode if battery power is to low. I had all sorts of problems with unit going into limpmode, until I called spal and had them remove the failsafe system for me. Its a known issue, and they'll do it for free if your having that problem.
